Which is more important AFR or Boost gauge?

Which is the most important.
Besides the standard triple pod in the middle of the dash I have a dual pod A pillar which has an oil pressure gauge and a blank. Would a Dual bank AFR gauge be best or a boost gauge in the blank? Installing a TT from a GTR. Comments, opinions, suggestions?

I honestly think neither gauges are needed if you're getting a reputable tuner to tune it on Ecutek.

AFR failsafes along with boost failsafe will negate the need for any gauges except for oil pressure ofc.

I barely glance at my gauges while on the gas, ymmv.

If I had to choose, I'd say the boost gauge, but I think I get the most useful data from my AFR gauge.. Best to just have both.

LOL, I don't get a chance to look at any gauge but the Tach. That's it. I do get a quick glimpse of the boost gauge from time to time.

Some of us have more time as we aren't putting down in the 800's lol.

I got 3 gauges. Oil pressure, Water Temperature, And Diff Temperature. My 4th one would be a Fuel Pressure gauge.

For turbo setups, I would think that boost would be best to watch for any creep

I have to say that recently both were pretty handy. I wasn't making boost. On my 18psi map it was only hitting 15psi consistently and my afr's were off. After the whole Ebay Boost Leak check and Home made smoke test I got concerned because it did'nt find anything but was still behaving the same. Took it to a shop because I ran out of skill and lo and behold it was an exhaust leak at the header flange. Important part was I was able to observe the boost and afr behaving badly in real time as well as datalog. So I say both. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.
I have boost, oil temp, oil pressure, afr but while I was doing my diagnostics I was kinda wishing for an in car fuel pressure.

Yes both gauges are important indeed I’ve seen people not seeing the intended boost they originally tuned for and a quality boost gauge that is accurate will display this and creep can happen. Depending on how your tuner is the AFR gauge will show the quality of the dyno tune and show you if the AFR is off and a possible retune could be needed. As far as catastrophic failure go’s the oil pressure gauge is the only thing really that will save your engine because once you see 0 psi. oil pressure it is usually too late.

Oil pressure gauge

I think mandatory gauges are oil temp, oil pressure, afr and boost. With out those you have no clue what your engine is doing and wont have time to pull over to save your car. If you look at any boosted OEM car they include some if not more of these gauges. At least and not recommend you could do a ecuteck Bluetooth ODB2 reader. Use it to stream to a phone or tablet, so there is really no reason to have no monitoring at all. Also not trying to come off as a gauge d bag, just my my 2 cents

Boost gauge - You will be able to see boost creep, lose of boost after hitting peak, a boost spike, etc...

Oil temp - The VHR runs hot so you will be able to know when you need to cool down,( say a race track, or spirited driving, drag strip)

Oil Pressure - Will save your engine if you loose pressure or see droping pressure.

AFR - Will let you know if you have a problem with fueling.
