Looks like someone forgot to pull the safety pin on the parachute. See the red hanging from the parachute.
SOHO is just not having any luck.

Spooler 03-12-2020 02:00 PM

Just heard from SOHO. They are all good. Car is good too.

Update:

cv129 03-13-2020 02:01 PM

Geez....

10+ yrs after the 370z came out, we finally start to know more what breaks at this whp level.

redondoaveb 03-13-2020 02:23 PM

Is my assumption that they're launching the car correct?

Hotrodz 03-13-2020 02:28 PM

It doesn't take as much whp as the have to break the input shaft on a well prepped surface. The tires are hooking up and causing too much shock on the transmission.

They have been broke at 650hp. Nothing new. It is just happening more often since folks are trying harder.

Little Mikey has a Stage 2 FI. He's about 700hp. He broke his a couple of years ago. He said that he was flat out in 5th. Hit a bump and both tires came off the ground. When the tires hit the ground again. The shaft snapped.

Spooler 03-13-2020 10:46 PM

I see one run from SOHO roll racing at 1:10. Looks like the one the may have straight out the back and on.

Nathan's stage 3 car trapped 150.xxmph. He said it spun pretty well the whole way down the track, and according to SOHO it was on the 800 setting, so not quite on kill.

They did forget the pin in the chute and ended up running out the back of the sandbox. All is/was well except the bumper, but the input shaft ordeal caused them to miss out on the roll race qualifying w/ that car. It was a shitshow all weekend for various reasons, some that I'm not really at liberty to discuss, but they're great guys and handled everything professionally.

I will say that this year was a very bad first impression of the way TX2K is run and organized...or not.

Heard some drama about the roll race, 70mph start instead of 40mph, UGR jumped the start and still green light, that UGR basically had the event tailored for them (not that it would’ve changed the outcome).

There was plenty of drama specific to SOHO, but yes, there was some of that as well.

Nth Moto had 1 of their big power cars disqualified from the roll racing due to tires that "were not DOT enough".

Spooler 03-24-2020 01:25 PM

Drama before, during, and after any racing is just the norm. It takes the fun out of it if you let it. Will I go do another half mile event. Yes, but I am not saying anything about it. LOL Too much hate and jealousy. I will go have fun and everybody else can guess about what I am up to. If I feel like sharing after the fact, I will. If not, oh well.

In all honesty Derrick you're right. It was fun but there were some Shenanigans going on all around. Whether it's lane choice, V.I.P. lanes. Who line up with who and a whole bunch of little things I noticed low key. Did'nt bother me much but I was paying attention.

That is to be expected at the track. I didn't enjoy the after event craziness.
