Spoolers next Adventure, the 1/4 mile drag strip.

Well, Jchammond and my friend Brian have been begging me to take my car and run it in the 1/4 mile on a drag strip. I am gonna do it. The goal will be to run in the 9's and it won't be easy. This is well outside of my comfort zone. I need to do a few mods to the car to make this happen. Line locks, roll bar, and set of slicks will be needed. First order of business is to find a 1/4 mile drag strip. Let me know where I can go around the Savannah, Ga area that has a good solid track with a well prepped surface.

Curious....with slicks and good surface prep, do you think you can hook with stock 3.69 or 3.5 (or 3.3) will still be beneficial?

This first time will just be to run the car on the 1/4 mile. I will need to practice since I have never done it. Don't expect great things. LOL

It’s all a about being on a prepped track + quality burnout & a little sunshine on the track
Tires will vary a little; gear ratio can be played with by adjusting tire diameter :tiphat:
Spooler’s in good hands; Gonna make some safe passes :driving:

After the half mile event, no way I am doing the Texas mile. My aero needs some serious work.

Guys, I am going to have to bow out of this. I had an issue tonight where I had one spot in my neck that gave me a funny sensation. I felt like I was going to pass out. It is hard to explain. I don't think I can physically do this. If I pass out it won't be good. I gotta do some research on neck injuries. I need way more safety in the car and I still may not be able to do this. This crap has opened my eyes and got me nervous. Damn cab driver!!!!!!

Get it checked out. This is one area where you don't want to mess around with.

I already know. LOL My neck is still fubar. Reality is very painful sometimes. I need to check with a Motorsports Dr. to see if there is anything I can wear that will help stabilize my neck and not cause further damage.

Best wishes on the diagnosis, D! Praying for ya!

Maybe check a neckroll out. It will keep your head from bouncing around.

It looks like it will be a HANS device. Will need 6 point harness, rollbar, and a Halo seat to go with it. No way around all of it. I am not sure if it will fix it though. Only thing to do would be to try it all out and see what happens.

I am screwed. I just need to accept it all. I can kick and scream about it with the best of them.

Hope the HANS works out. It is for the best. Life is about compromises, after all.
