Thinking About supercharge my Z. Need HELP!
Hi guys. I Am not new to the Z but do not know much about the supercharger.
My Z is now modified with Stillen Gen 3 intake, HFC, Amuse R1 titan exhaust with an Uprev tune. It puts around 320hp to the wheel. i am thinking about install the stillen supercharger on my car to make more power. so besides the supercharger itself, what else needs to be upgraded on my Z oil cooler? clutch ? flywheel? also does all my other mods work with the supercharger? and after the installation of supercharger, is it still gonna be tuned with Uprev? any recommendation as to which oil cooler/cluthc/flywheel to get? Thank you so much for your input in advance! |

First of all dont do the stillen kit...
If your set on a vortech based supercharger then get the TopGun Kit. It is a cleaner kit and fixes several design issues with the Stillen kit. If you want you can also look at the whipple supercharger kit but it will require cutting your hood. Things you will need: Oil Cooler at least a 32 or 34 row and a thermostatic adapter plate For Clutch I tell people to go with a twin disk OS Giken it has close to stock engagement while also having way more holding power. Outside of that for the 400-500whp range your good. If you plan for more power other mods will be needed. |
Do yourself a big favor and read through some of the build threads before you make any decisions. It is a fairly big job but well worth it!
Having done the Stillen SC with the TopgunZ A2A and all of the associated mods, plan on spending around $10-12K to do it right. If you have a sport model, the brakes and LSD are already there and that will reduce the cost of upgrading them. My car was the touring model and I had to do the LSD and brake upgrades. Yes, you will need an oil cooler and clutch (I used the Southbend Stage 3 daily and love it). I highly recommend the ECUtec tune that Seb does. Your car will be perfectly drivable. The stock cats will eventually fail if you drive the car hard or do any tracking, so you need to factor that in. What I did was to do everything possible to make my car as reliable as possible so that I can just enjoy it. So far I have had 8K miles of FUN! My car is perfectly drivable and hauls AZZ! |

I'm running the stock flywheel but with a Southbend Stage 3 daily clutch and their pressure plate. Just a slight increase in pedal effort. Not a big deal with the RJM clutch pedal. |
Soho has. A nice ysi build going could contact them

If you are not set on a supercharger and open to turbo kits ...boosted performance kit performs great and install is very simple can be done over a weekend at home ...out of the box will put you easily in the 500whp range ..comes with oil cooler kit only will need to upgrade the clutch...and I believe it is the best priced kit available with everything included..and easily upgraded in the future.
