I definitely know that e85 is safer in terms of like temperature and stuff, but when it goes bad, it goes BAD lol. That's the one thing he's concerned about, on top of it being a corrosive fuel lol and corroding parts of the car / engine if any issues come up. And the detonation as well lol |
It doesn't corrode anything in the system or engine. It's corrosive to old cars fuel systems but the cars systems now are designed for it. So i wouldn't use that statement anymore.
Detonation? That stuff is virtually impossible to pre-det. |

Then what are the negative effects of e85 in your opinion if at all, in today's cars like our current 370zs or g37s, etc, any car using e85 xD Is there any negative effect and I am just curious because I like to learn.. how is e85 virtually impossible to pre-det? o: |
Downsides...thirsty and less available.
Upsides...everything else but those 2. Why do you think it makes more power? Cuz it wards off pre Det. Google latent heat of vaporization ethanol vs gasoline. |
Aaron, I sent you a pm earlier.

Appreciate all of your support lately as my mechanic put the A2A kit together. Couldn't have finished it today without you (: |
I cant believe your "mechanic" is mis-informing you so much. I would stop listening to him.
Ill just leave this here. http://iqlearningsystems.com/ethanol...cteristics.pdf and the highlight. INCREASED ENGINE LIFE: Ethanol has a very high MON octane rating, allowing engine builders to run higher compression ratios without fears of destructive detonation. It also has a very high Latent Heat of Vaporization, so the engine is cooled far better than one running on gasoline. This lowers bottom end and oiling system temperatures substantially. Then ask him why General Motors and all major car manufacturers would design engines to run solely off of a "corrosive" fuel like E85 to damage the engine. Thats called a flex fuel vehicle. We owned one and I would purposely find E85 to run a tank of it about every 5 tank fulls to clean the fuel system out and more notably to clean the cylinders out. Ethanol removes carbon build up from the engine that is caused by petroleum based fuels. aka 91 octane pump gas. |
Pulley spacer
928 Motorsports sells a pulley spacer for the Vortech. You cut it to size. A little expensive but it saves the time and effort of machining one or using washers.

Oh yeah....I remember seeing that.
That would fix the spacer issue but not the short belt issue lol. So I suppose the better solution is to use Topz idea and just get a 3.0" idler on SC side paired with a 2.85 and 3.0 sc pulley using same belt haha |
