Oil overheating problems with Stillen SC
 
I know ... this issue has been covered 1000 times but looks like I am pushing the envelop a little bit futher. I own a 2009 370Z with a Stillen SC, I replaced the SC rad by a Frozenboost, I have a Stillen 25 rows oil cooler and I replaced the front bumper with the Stillen one. I use the car only on race tracks. Even with all those mods, my engine oil still hit 260F + degrees . I am now considering the ultimate solution. Since there is 2 large holes each side of the bumper, I am thinking of installing 2 extra oil cooler, daisy chained with one an other. I would build a shroud from the bumper to the oil coolers (for the 2 behind the wheels) to funnel the air. Behind the coolers, I am going to make holes in the inner fenders to let the air flow outside of the bumper bay. Does anyone ever made something like that ? Any flaws in my plan ?

From all the other posts I've read about members who track their cars, the 34-row Setrab cooler is all that's needed.

And...based upon the information you've shared, without the A2A setup, you're racing on borrowed time...

With the FrozenBoost upgrade, the AIT shows a 2 degrees diff. Compared To external temp.

Sounds like a sound plan to me. Haven’t seen anyone do it but should work and the ducts will give tons of cooling, just going to have to make the brackets and hoses etc yourself as I’ve not heard of any kit.

Is your heat exchanger in front of the oil cooler? I have an opposite situation....my oil temps never go above 220 but my SC limps out since my oil cooler is in front so my heat exchanger is partly covered.

Does the frozen boost solution move the tempernature sensor closer to the engine? Wondering how you know the temperature of the air getting pushed into the engine?

Wouldn't going A2A eliminate the Y pipe and air filters up front and provide more room for heat exchanger and oil cooler to receive air flow?

Right, but AIT is measured at the MAF, right? Pre-compressor?

Your solution is a 34-row oil cooler.

I have a similar setup with the oil cooler in a side vent, blowing through a hole in the fender. I only have one oil cooler, the Setrab 34 row. Blowing air through the oil cooler works well, it's a good system. But in your proposed idea, I'd worry about the oil pump being able to run the oil through both of the coolers and the lines between them. Do you have a way to monitor your oil pressure? If so, monitor it before you put all the oil coolers on so you have a baseline.
