I will have some pics, logs, and dyno chart once I go pick the Z up.

As my previous posts, still having Idle issues. I'm going to pick it up and eliminate the Stillen extension cable for the throttle body and just extend the OEM cable by soldering extended wires.

Just for curiosity's sake, do you have pics of yoru piping completed? And how is your idle now?

Some pics before complete install. Shop sent me these while they were connecting the piping up. They had to take the front bumper off later on and add a new filter... but now MAFs are closer to the TB's and bypass valve vent to atmosphere.

Picking up the Z tomorrow. I am going to remove the Stillen TB extension harness myself and extend the wires. Go through the song and dance for calibrating the TB's and report back if the p0300 went away.

So I have a 2018 370z Nismo and just got the stillen SC with oil cooler kit and upgraded radiator. The car has 600 miles on it and never had this p0300 code until the shop reported it before picking the Z up after the Stillen SC install. They did a smoke test and there was a small leak on the first cupler from the plenum. Driving home the cupler popped off. I since put on upgraded straps so the cupler no longer pops off when I hit boost but I’m STILL getting this random P0300 code. So annoying. I’m going to test for a leak in the cupler but if there is none I’m guessing it’s the stillen tune. I take my Z in this Thursday to get a custom tune and map from scratch and Dyno. If this doesn’t cure the problem I’m gonna go crazy. Somebody suggested colder heat range plugs w/a tighter gap. Will report back.

Well, I lost faith in all shops in this area for sure.

I just picked up my Z with such a horrible experience from this shop. The entire time, they said the car was done. I go to pick up, car does not rev past 2K RPMs. Just bounces after 2.1K. Idle is even WORSE... to the point where it wants to die. Apparently there was a lot of frustration there before I got there. The brother of the tuner got into a heated conversation with my old man and I because i was not satisfied. Drove the car not more than 1 mile... had to tow it home. Anythin past 2.1K rpms, the needle would just started bounces all over the place.

***SIGH****

I am going to contact UpRev and tell them my experience. This shop is listed on their web page. If you want to avoid this shop in the future, send me a PM and I'll give you the name of it.

I'm considering an E-Tune... Any takers?

I have +1 step colder plugs. It shouldn't be an issue. Tighter gap maybe... but i am getting p0300's at idle on cold starts. Not sure if it is similar to your situation.

Normally I would go copper plugs + 1 step colder with a tighter gap for large boost. Not quite sure for this charger though.

NissanTracker 06-08-2018 10:55 AM

Would be funny if the +1 step colder plugs WERE causing the random misfire. So essentially, the 350z HR spark plugs are 1+ step colder for the 350z DE. The 370z plugs are 1+ step colder for the 350z HR. I kept them on the stock 370z gap... since they are iridium and it is difficult to gap those without destroying the electrode.

The simple way is to use the GTR plugs if you are boosted. Rockauto has the best price on them.

I can tell you that the piping you have on now will make the airflow to the banks very uneven. Should of just bought topgunz A2A kit.

How is this different from Stillen's pipe? My goal is max 400wHP. Topgunz kit is certainly the way to go, but I will get his full S.C kit when I get the 370z next year or so.

In addition, not to throw any negativity, but topgunz Y pipe also introduced uneven flow. There is a 45 degree to straight coupler on one TB, and a 45 degree to 90 degree coupler on the other. The idea is that it is "negligible" since all air converges in this particular Stillen manifold.

That is correct. for the 370z, GTR's are +1

For my 350z HR, 370s are +1

A Base tune from Seb @SpecialtyZ came in today. Will flash the provided ROM and report results.

Latest Update:

Had quite of a delay. Delivered a baby boy, so the Z project was put to the side a bit. I was working with Seb on some tunes and I ended up going back to the OE Stillen set up and just building a shield to block air to the front filter.

Reason for going back was the intercooler pipe was welded decently, but the MAF flanges were not. The passenger size MAF flange was put too close to the bend + weld bead, that MAF was reporting much less air flow than the driver's side.

As a basic test, I added an OEM MAF with a coupler towards the end of that bank and they were even. I will save this project for next year and just cruise around with Sebs tunes for now.

NissanTracker 06-22-2021 11:24 PM

I punted on this project. I tried to get another place to weld the pipes but airflow was never perfect. Like everyone said. Was a great learning experience for sure. It was comparable to the Stillen pipe that came with the original kit, but just wasn't worth the extra effort. Very tight space there. I just went to TopGunz v1 A-A kit. I had to mod a bit on my 350z Nismo, but since has been running great! I'm pushing 455wHP with the K&N filter topping at 12psi. As every
