Air to Air SC New build

9 Attachment(s)
I figured I would start another thread on my build and plans. In the past few months I have made some major changes to the car after my motor popped back in December. I immediately purchased a new block and sent it to the machine shop to get the work done. Seb from Specialty Z hooked me up with CP pistons .020 over w/upgraded wrist pins and PRO-H Beam Carrillo Rods with CARR Bolts. I had the heads port and polished along with the Stillen intake manifold, lower intake manifold, and had the exhaust runners ported to match the header gaskets. I also sent my supercharger off to 928 Motorsports and had them install high speed bearings and their impeller. I plan on pushing it to 18 or more PSi at first and go from there. My pulley setup is the Stillen 9 lb, 3.47" Jackshaft, and 2.80" supercharger pulley. Im tuning with no filter on the inlet and hoping for pretty big numbers. I am still having Seb do the tuning and we have starting to tune WOT now so Ill be able to get back on what boost I am actually hitting soon. Here are a few pictures and I can post more later on.

In!

Looks like your porter did the heads backwards yo. Left the intake divider alone yet knife edged the exhaust divider. That doesn't make sense.

"My pulley setup is the Stillen 9 lb, 3.47" Jackshaft, and 2.80" supercharger pulley."

What do you calculate your SC RPM will be will that setup and what diameter is your 9lb pulley?

The pictures are not of the finished job. They were the first day he had the block.

My Stillen pulley is 2.75". I should be mid to high 60k RPM.

If I have entered the correct numbers of your setup in the Vortech Impeller Speed Calculator you'll be at 70158RPM at 7500RPM (Engine).

Can't wait to see the numbers!

Thanks. A shop that specializes in Import port and polishing here local did all the work. They produce a lot of very high HP cars. Everyone has their technique that they think works the best but as long as I gain HP from it Im happy.

this is going to be bonkers.

Following this thread closely - you might be my Ghost of Christmas Future!

Glad to see you back on the horse(power)!

Just to update everyone. I finished tuning with Seb and was able to get on the dyno. Im hitting between 16-17 psi. I was only able to dyno my daily map that is set to 19 deg of timing due to the heat and humidity here. Car got hot pretty quick. I was able to put down 696/500 on a mustang dyno. I was very happy to say the least and will hopefully be back on the dyno when it cools off in the next few weeks to get numbers for my "kill" mode.

Amazing.

700 whp and 500 wtq??!!!!!! I'm more than impressed. Awesome achievement Evan!!!

What are your thoughts on 928's claim that their impeller design brings on torque sooner?

MoulaZ 08-14-2017 03:30 AM

That is some AWESOME results man. Congrats!

And making 16-17 PSI using the standard belt setup. How come no belt slip? We got guys struggling to make 9-10 PSI because of it, and here you are going WAY past it. Got a graph of your boost from the Dyno?

Thanks. I have the standard belts but a few idler pulleys are swapped out for bigger ones. It helped to make the belts more tight. The 3" idler pulley on the supercharger side helps along with a bigger jackshaft pulley (3.47") to get that belt pretty tight.

We actually totally forgot to hook up the boost line to the dyno. Next time I will for sure hook one up.

Congrats Evan...ur really pushing the envelope on this kit...Amazing build and numbers man.....And this is ur Daily Tune? Is this also on E85? Daaaam can't wait to see what ur "Kill" tune is gonna put down...

Appreciate it. Yep daily tune on 19 degrees of timing. Yes e85.

elperuano 08-15-2017 04:19 PM

Awesome build and great numbers man. On a mustang dyno too!

RadioFlyer 08-15-2017 06:33 PM

Out of curiosity, did you dyno it on pump gas too? Do you know how much timing it held? Totally just curious about how much timing you can run on 16-17psi without getting too much det.

My kill map is set to 22 deg of timing. I also have a custom parameter I can change in the Ecutek app, including bumping the timing up or down a few degrees on maps 2-4. My old kill map was set to 24-25 deg so we definitely took it down a few this time around.

RadioFlyer 08-16-2017 06:20 PM

Thanks! Makes sense for e85.

Hi Evan ...

Have been following your adventures ... was off line for awhile.
Looking forward to viewing some more videos of your 'chance' encounters on the street.

Still have yet to dyno on kill. The weather is getting cooler here and should be in the low 70's next week. Might see what it makes then. Just having fun with it now. lol
