GT-R Turbo Adapters Interest
Hello there everyone! I'm finally about to finish my TT project and had a few people contact me about my project and the adapters used to make the GTR turbo's work on our platform.
The GTR turbo adapters include: Driver side Manifold Adapter (Bolts to the head using low profile allen bolts) Driver side Slim Motor Mount Bracket Passenger side Manifold Adapter (Bolts to the head using low profile allen bolts) With GT-R Turbos (with manifolds) going for sale at under a $1000 per set, this would make it possible to Twin Turbo the Z at just around $5000. I'm just posting this thread to see if there's more interest for these adapters. There's a few people who contacted me about them but it would be cost prohibitive to machine a single set at a time. If there's enough interest, I might be also able to source the downpipes needed to bolt back to the OEM exhaust location. If you are interested, please post on this thread as my inbox is full. A few pictures to show the GT-R turbos installed on my engine. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c0e153e0d8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5a41e449f5.jpg |
Count me in.

Have you checked the steering shaft yet? Curious if the drivers manifold will hit the shaft or not.
|
I'm interested in the adapter, I've been watching your build and I like the idea of saving a ton of money to go boost.

Hey husam - can you clear some PM space and send me a message? I have an unrelated question for you...
Also, one of the many benefits to Premium Membership (in addition to supporting this great forum) is a big increase in PM capacity. =) |
LOLOL got me. I meant drivers side
|
I'm for sure interested.
|
This is soooo cool...i cant believe no one else thought of this sooner especially considering the price point

I put the engine back in before finishing up everything just to see clearances and it clears the steering shaft by about a cm, but I would definitely recommend stiffer motor mount just so the engine doesn't rock back and forth. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6785dce49f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Nice! Im assuming it clears the chassis all the way around also?

Yes it does. Here's some pictures of a shop overseas who has successfully done this also. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f231b54389.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7c4dff9b23.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...749142e365.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
This is interesting. I'm still deciding on how I'm going to do my turbo system.
Are the GTR Turbos/Manifolds easy enough to source for a decent price? |
Interested!!!

I sourced mine for about $550 shipped for the pair. They were on a '12 with 30k miles. Looking on eBay/gtr classifieds, there's was a few around that price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Have you actually test fitted the chassis fitment yet? I've been told that the shop over seas cuts the chassis to make clearance.

I actually tried it halfway just to see clearance and it does fit. There would be no reason i would do this if it required cutting the chassis to fit it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Awesome thread and build. What numbers are u expecting to hit as far as HP/TQ to the wheels?

I'm aiming to stay under 450 whp just because I'm on the stock returnless fuel system. Wish I had the budget for it so I could test the limits of the turbos safely on e85. Turbos should be good for atleast 600 whp on the stock block. After seeing how close the passenger side compressor was to the chassis, I decided to just clock the turbo a little bit so it clears it a little bit better. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cc530e653e.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I'm interested

What are you looking for price point for?
Driver side Manifold Adapter (Bolts to the head using low profile allen bolts) Driver side Slim Motor Mount Bracket Passenger side Manifold Adapter (Bolts to the head using low profile allen bolts) |
I'm definitely interested in this I just don't want to be in over my head with the extras that complete the kit.
|
I am interested as well if the cost is reasonable.
Thanks |
I'd be interested pretty shortly. Will depend on the cost a bit. Also, what are the chances this setup would work on a 7AT?

The price for the initial group buy will be at just under a grand shipped. The parts are exactly as you listed them. Including screws and assuming one will reuse the OEM studs (I reused mine). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't believe it's to complicated for anybody who works on their car. The OEM Inlets fit with minor modifications and even the GTR bovs would work in this application. CJM has their intercooler coming up for sale soon and they are taking orders for them already so meant one only needs to do very little custom piping. The coolant/oil fittings are widely available everywhere and I will have a guide written with all the parts needed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Do you think this will work for the 7AT?
Dropping the motor is a must? |

The turbos will fit the AT with no problems at all. I would definitely recommend dropping the motor even if it's just a little bit on jack stands just to make everything easier and faster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
