Favorite gas additives

Preparing for emmissions ran a bottle of crc cleaner, although I always use premium fuel I have noticed a difference in performance. Normally once in a while it will stall idling down for a redlight for example, hasnt thought of doing that on this tank. Anyone running a octane booster as routine and if so favorite brands. I've used Techron over the years buy believe thats more of a cleaner to be used every 3000 miles or so, I'd be interested in something safe for every fillup.

3 gallons of e85. High octane and the alcohol cleans things out. At 3 gallons you won't have any computer issues

How long have you been doing this? Really not a good idea with the stock fuel system

Torco Accelerator..used it for a track day, made me feel faster:tup:

Seb @ Specialty Z recommended it so, it can't be too bad.

I've been doing this for about 2 years now. Tuned like this by Seb. Fuel pump is ok, injectors are about as high safely as they can be.

I've had good results in a few different vehicles. Just important to keep the ratio were the computer can handle it

Interesting. So you get 3 gallons of e85 and then I assume you fill the rest with 93? Any idea what octane rating that comes out to more or less? Or just an intake temp thing?

Well I'm in lovely CA here so 91. Mixing gets me into the area of 93 octane

Torco is the best fuel additive you can get. It actually works exactly as advertised unlike those other cheap options in part stores that don't work. I used to run it all the time in my '05 Legacy GT. Car was originally tuned on a full tank of 100 octane. Since that was a very expensive fuel to run daily I decide to run Torco all the time. I add Torco filled up with 93octane and ran the car on the 100octane map and it ran perfectly with 0 knock. I was actually able to get a bit more aggressive with the timing map when I ran it.

Octane Booster back from the Dead

I'm in the same boat as a lot of people. You have modified your car and are running a higher octaine map.Can not buy high octane fuel at pumps.Have bought VP race gas from stealer in town.$13.00 a gallon.I can get cheaper online but shipping makes it a wash.
So the much debated fuel additives.Have tried Lucas,Boostane,NOS,Royal Purple and was using Torco.
Started useing Race gas additive last summer.Liked the power, seemed to run smoother. The stuff is not cheap though.I would like to know who else is running race gas additive.
I like Race Gas and Torco.A lot of the other additives are junk.

Seafoam for when ever I want to create a smoke screen. All kidding aside, octane boosters are by and large useless for anything other then placebo. Touroline is about the only effective additive that is cheap enough to use in bulk to make a difference in Octane. Cleaner additives are good for neglected old motors but make little difference in well maintained newer motors.

Toluene? Yeah, it works well but it isn't cheap any more. Toluene/Xylene with a splash of Marvel's Mystery Oil was the recipe for redneck octane booster for a long time.

What are you running for octane? Can you buy 97- 100 octane where you live?
What other alternatives are there for higher octane on boosted car other than methanol injection?
Also Sea foam is great.I put in everthing when I put away for winter.

I ran some of VP’s ethanol free C10,,,,Z loved it/ though I wasn’t tuned on 100 octane & 75$ for 5gal pail.
When I perform my next build; gonna run Ignite’s 114 e90 fuel.
