BAD IDEA. TEST PIPES + MOTORDYNE WERE A BAD IDEA!!! CHRIST THE NOISE! It's loud before you even lay into it. When you plant your foot down, you could wake the dead. First cop to hear me and I'm done. I'm not convinced my pair of 100cpsi Cats are gonna do sh*t to combat this. =/

Did you consider getting ART pipes? They are quieter. |

And doesn't matter how large a resonance chamber you hang off a Test Pipe, it's still gonna be LOUD. Not to mention 4 times the price lol. :icon17: |

ART pipes are light years beyond any other. And depending on the air moving through can actually be very quiet too. This from personal experience. Quote:

By the way, for those curious for what the Cats actually looked like after exploding, here's a before & after.
When it happened, got the CEL flashing at me every time I tried to rev and it struggled... but strangely it didn't generate a code. |

Only Bank 2 went. Bank 1 is the 'before' photo. Turns out my Plenum gasket had developed a very small tear, for the Cylinder 6 runner and was the cause of my whacky AFRs. What I suspect happened was one day while conducting some 'tests' and revving it out, right after I hit redline (and rev limiter) I heard a small pop followed by brown smoke bellowing out my exhaust, which I think I mentioned already in OP. Had I not had the AFR issues on that Bank 2, probably wouldn't have happened I think. Could have been a little bit too much fuel was dumped, and ignited in the Headers and blew out the Cat? I dunno, but it seems kinda plausible. Photo of the tear I'm talking about: |
