Weird problem

This has happened twice now.

I'll be driving along and all of the dash warning lights come on and then the engine drops to idle and will not respond to any throttle input. I shut the car off and restart and it runs fine but the SES light is on. Go to check for any codes and none are set.

Anybody seen this problem before?

Did it again and this time P1239 was set. This is a throttle position error code. Being that it is random it may be a loose connection on one of the throttle bodies.

Checked all of the connections and it happened again. Guess I'll be removing the Stillen extension cables and giving them a close inspection. This could be very dangerous if the car went into limp mode at the wrong time and place!

Ive had this happened before...and was getting that same code....eventually led to a faulty Throttle Chamber. Everytime u shut ur car off and on it resets the throttle chambers...so like how our RPM gauge goes up and down prior to or at start the throttle chambers wil also do the same thing. Best way to find out is pull off ur intake pipe just enough to have a visual inspection of the intended interior region of the throttle chambers with the MAFS still connected....have a buddy help put by putting the car to on but not starting it....u should be able to see at this point the throttle chambers open and close....if ur throttle chambers flutters then it's fried and must be replaced. It just a matter of time before it goes out. Mine kept doing what u explained til it finally went out one day and didn't want to Fire up.

Thanks for the info BOLIO 671.

I did take the Stillen extension cables off and inspected them. They all looked good but I did note that the way I had them bundled was pretty tight. I cut all of the zip ties and re-did the cables with some slack in them. So far everything has been back to normal. Only time will tell if that was the fix.

This also happened to me after about 8 months of having the Stillen SC kit installed. I had my mechanic look at it and it was one dodgy pin on the Stillen throttle extension cable which he fixed and has been fine since.
