BP 600whp on 12psi (DYNO inside)

Earlier this week one of my customers hit the rollers and managed to get his car tuned on 91 octane fuel as well as ethanol.

The results speak for themselves. This was a 4th gear pull on the base 6266 T4 1.15 a/r turbo and upgraded (to 1000cc) injectors. This is out of the box, bolt on performance. 6psi of boost by 3,000 RPM to boot, not to shabby for just a single turbo.

That't the thing...600whp is as hight as you want to be with a street car. Traction is a serious issue, and you just end up spinning, especially if it is a cool day. I think R compound tires and a "square" set-up in the back will go a long way in addressing this, but it is still a boat load of easy power.

I think the 500ft/tq at the wheels before 4k is really what will make the car tough to handle on the street.

I am also pretty confident that this base turbo with the larger 1.32 a/r turbine would go deep in to the 600's at the wheels on E85. The billet wheel turbos don't really reach peak efficiency until you get in the high teens/twenty's with boost.

:iagree: I am at about the same whp on RE-11 and the temps here are perfect for boosting (40*'s to 60*), for get it in 1st and 2nd, but good traction in 3rd now that I changed out my rear diff. Besides tires, an upgraded rear diff has made a huge difference in putting down power and confidence in handling all the power and torque.

Congrats to all involved...great numbers!

Definitely....an upgrade on the differential goes a long way. I know when I switched to a Quaife on my 350z, it made a world of difference. It was also so much easier to reel it back in when the rear does go a bit squirely. Made the car very predictable.

Those are some great numbers. That JB turbo putting in some work!

Very nice!

jwick 01-25-2016 12:19 PM

Sasha, so the only upgrade was 1000cc injectors? So the 340L pump will support these numbers?

Who did the tuning?

Yes, that is correct.

That's what I was hoping you would say. I really don't want to go through the hassle of upgrading fuel pump for my power goals.

You will definitely be fine. I am still running the 340L pump as well

Then I'm more than good. I'm only looking for another 50whp/wtq(ish) and E85.

For the extra $180, I should just have the 1000cc injectors as standard and call it a day.

That is entirely possible but I'd only be looking for 550whp/475wtq.

I was told this car also uses the CJM S1-S return fuel system, but I havent verified that yet because I am not sure whos car it is.

I'd be happy if I get such numbers on pump. Realistically would be like 510/460. But I won't daily driving on e85 everyday so id take whatever power given (600 whp 500 wtq)

Correct, the kit has your S1 return system. Which should really be a part of this kit :).

With all that TQ .. How long will you think the bottom will hold ... I was under the impression 400 TQ was the "standard" safe range ?

517 tq on ethanol should be pretty safe. I was almost running that on 93 (497wtq). My motor did go lol, but I also drove that thing super hard. I also think mine was a fluke seeing as how not too many vq37's have gone from power. There was always some other issue at hand whether it was bad maintenance or a tune hiccup. However I don't think 517tq on ethanol will give you problems. A lot of guys are putting down mid 400's in torque all day long without issues as well on 93. The e85 guys are running some higher torque numbers too.

I was at 555ish tq on 100 octane before switching over to e85 and now I'm just under 500 on e85. I also think EcuTek was a game changer as timing can be fine tuned. I went out flog her good yesterday, felt all 600 plus ponies the force of all that torque pushing me deep into the back of my seat. :driving:

Jinxx 01-25-2016 11:06 PM

Well I only have the stage 2 GTM supercharger and will only run 93 octane ... Don't think I can get much over 500 whp at best .... Not sure if there is room to grow with it .... Other than trying the ecutec to tune .... I barely have 2500 miles on the kit and don't really track the car so I should be content with it ......... Lol and that was my excuse to buy a nismo over the sport .....however I would like to make the most out of what I have to maximize the output

Hotrodz 01-25-2016 11:11 PM

As they say...you pay your money and you take your chances. I have 20K of fun filled boosting so far and I know if it goes pop...then I will cry till I ride again. Good luck my friend!

He has ID 1000cc injectors paired w/ the full CJM (Phunk's) S1-S fuel system as well. Tune was done by Seb@Specialty Z with ECUTEK controlled with a Greddy Profec Boost Controller

Spec Jay 02-11-2016 06:58 PM

holy crap how did he get it to have peak boost by 3.5k?!

Do you have a boost controller Jay?

Spec Jay 02-12-2016 09:23 AM

Yeah, turbosmart eboost street. We have the gain set as high as it can go without getting a boost spike.

We did tune as conservative as possible though so that could be it too.
