Paxton SUpercharger
Question on a paxton Novi 1200 supercharger. My neighborhood just dropped this off at my house because his cousin wants to sell it. Im thinking about buying it if i can get it cheap. Would this work on our platform?
Anything would work if you have a bracket that holds it and it matches pulleys.
Yeah i know that much. This unit is huge. Capable of 700 plus. anything i should check for or ask questions about it?

I bet it would be pretty close to mounting up with stillens bracket.
Thats a big mofo blower.

So why is this blower better than a Vortech, which we know will fit up to the stillen plate. Do you have a Stillen kit?
Just about anything will work if you have the right brackets/belts/&c. I'd try a web search for "Paxton Novi 1200 +370Z".
I don't even get the reason of trying to use this SC.

The Paxton Max CFM is 1150 - 775 hp 52,000 rpm MAx V3 Max CFM 1150 - 750hp 53,000 Rpm Max. In theory they will be almost the same. |
Yup. And if he really wanted to make some noise then he should get the V1 with Ti trim.
55000 RPM 26 PSI 1400 CFM 950 HP plus HD bearings AND this would fit up to currently designed brackets. This is what I might be throwing in. All depends on how much power I make at low elevation here when I re-dyno in spring. Chances are, ill make some good numbers but by mid summer be wanting more and doing this anyway. |
My neighbor friends brother went jail and needs to sell it, if i could get it for cheap, I'd maybe go this route instead of an all motor build.

I still don't see this being much of a deal on your end. You will need to buy this, lets say you get a steal for $1000. Then you need to buy a used Stillen kit for $4000 (avg.). Now you have 2 superchargers. Sell the Vortech for $1000, so now your at the same price as you would be by just buying the stillen kit and you have a blower that might not fit on the bracket so you might spend another $1000 on a custom bracket.
Where are the savings here? |
Thats what's im asking. But why would i have to get a stillen kit and not just have a custom bracket fab'd up?
Ok just custom make a bracket. Then you need a custom manifold made. Then you need a custom air to air discharge, cooler and intake made. You will need to source all pulleys and belts and pray they all fit up.
How much will all that cost? Way more than $4k. |

Yea i was just trying to get a feeler for this. I have 10k set away for a build. Guess i could always buy a FI kit, it would save me alot of headache.
Its for sale if anyone is interested
It is the same vortech makes paxton fyi. That is an s/si trim vortech unit shinned up with a paxton logo on it and the conversion patern for the paxton brackets. Without a pick of the backside looking at the pulley to see if the vortech mounts are there i cant tell you if it will fit on v1-v3 brackets. Other wise i would have to read the tag and pull up the specs which i dont want to do lol.
Confirmed that is a v2 s-trim with a paxton plate on it and will fit the stillen brackets. You will just have to plumb an oil feed and return (just like a turbo) since it does not have the internal oiling. But you can upgrade it to the v2 ti trim if you wanted.
Would be pretty sweet if uou could score it cheap and pick up a stillen kit with a blown charger.
Thanks for the input, Im still debating if i want to go forward with this. I bought it because it was a deal i couldn't turn down. I've been in talks with a company to build me a dry sump to go forward with the hi rev build, If this unit doesn't sell by next year i'll decide then.
