Congrats

Nice to see more and more boosted Z's

iBenJAMM1N 11-20-2015 10:35 AM

In the next few months, I should be gathering the rest of the parts for installation :)

MidnightBlueZ 11-20-2015 01:20 PM

Nice, gonna have a few AAM TT Zs in TN now. Buddy of mine is having Z1 do his 07 Z built block and Twins. Who is gonna install and tune it? This is Cody, friends with Chad White. We follow each other on Instagram lol.

Lol small world! Jon just told me about his getting done next. Hopefully with the help of some friends. This project will most likely be done in a garage or maybe a lift. Time will tell, spring of next year! Yeah I figured it was you once I seen a post a while back when you got your Meisters

Oh yeah? Haha. Yeah his name is Anthony. Pretty cool dude he had a GTM supercharger kit that never worked right. I think you both will be happy with the AAM kits. Sounds good should save quite a bit that way. Going to take the car to Jon for the tune? Wish I still had those wheels! Your Nismo looks great on the matte silver. I liked the bronze you had before a lot too.

Definitely!, Jon does a excellent job on every tune I had for my car. I had 4
Dyno tunes from Z1 with the Z and my previous G35.

I really like the bronze as well but what had me want to get rid of them was the disk that rub slightly on the front calipers and the aggressive offset. I wanted a proper camber/tire setup.
Pictures just don't do the wheels justice with the hardline lip!

zguynate 11-21-2015 06:47 PM

All of us guys in Tn are going to have to meet up sometime. I'm in Memphis.

Hell yeah I'm gonna have to let Jon work his magic on mine one of these days!

Just went through you build thread. What was causing the smoking issue? Did you ever removed the oil pump?

carlitos_370z 11-24-2015 06:08 AM

Awesome dude!!!

It was oil in the return lines, we solved it by adding an exapump.

I haven't seen this addressed with any other AAM installed on a 3.7
As I read, maybe it's from the 3.5HR you suggested.

tonyHTX 11-24-2015 01:10 PM

Yeah I'm not sure, it seems to be just my particular luck. We were quite dumbfounded as the shop was installing the AAM kit on a 350z HR at the same time and that car did not have the issue. In the end, the car has been running without creating plumes of smoke since April so I am a happy camper!

tonythetiger 11-24-2015 01:57 PM

how is this kit compared to fast intentions?

Its the two most popular TT kit for our platform currently.
I would say i like both kits. Both kits make good power, Nice powerband.
One thing of the biggest difference is the turbo used and internal and external WG.

:iagree:

You can't go wrong with either. The FI kit does have more turbo options though and a more proven track record since there are more on the street.

The AAM kit is supposedly good for over 700whp out of the box. Not too many people have decided to venture past that, which may be why AAM hasn't really advertised their other turbo options. Their "stage 2" turbos are the BW EFR 7163's and are good for quite a lot more. For some reason 1000whp comes to mind but don't quote me on that as I'm not 100% sure.

FI definitely has more kits out there. It seems to be the most popular. Their kits are also well documented throughout the forums.

Another observation, it seems from the dyno graphs I have seen, the AAM kit creates a little less torque than the FI. Which could be a good or bad thing depending on your goals.

Jwick I quoted you for the mention of turbo options. The rest is just general info for everyone else. I know you know your stuff homie

No worries on this end...you know we're cool:tup:

Good point on the torque. I noticed that on most of their kits. The AAM kit on Tony's VQ35HR makes almost equal torque to HP. I'm not sure if that's the tuner or the built VQ35HR motor. Leaning towards the later since he and I have the same tuner.

580-600whp on 9.5-10.5 psi easily with the AAM kit. Most AAM cars are making average of 450tq on that boost pressure. There hasn't been any aggressive E85 tune AAM kit on stock motor except for Jonathan which made 659whp 555tq on 15psi not sure what dyno.

I see you are planning for a spring install. Do you plan on attending Zdayz next year in May? Myself and Memphis370 are going. It would be nice to meet you and see your car in person there. Whether or not my car will be there is in the air, but I will be lol.
