I was only trying to show that the cats are a problem when people say they aren't. I am just looking out for the best of others that are running this kit. I mean if you truly want to stick with the cats then by all means stay with it. But just saying "not a problem" is realistically not true because nothing is perfect.

Very true. I've got about 2500 miles on mine and we looked into the turbo about 2 weeks ago and it was clean. Spun the blades and they continued to spin a few minutes after. So everything so far is working but as you said Sh't happens and if spending a few extra hundred to save thousands doesn't really sound that bad of an idea.

Very true!

Just watched the driver invitational on Speed there was a red Z with STS that I caught a glimpse of. Wish they actually showed the car

Really...do you remeber the name of the show? STS is slowly putting videos of there system out there but the only ones I seem to see are the vettes.:bs:

A few pages back a member put up some vids up they were pretty good, I think those are the only good one's that exist cause I've been trying to do the same. The show had Goldberg on it and they never even pointed out the Z so it probably won't even be worth looking up. It aired at midnight last night if that helps any.

Out-Perform with OUTPERFORMANCE SHOP - Your one stop auto shop for performance parts, accessories, installations, and more

here you guys go, Nismo STS shop car...... few vidoes, pics, specs, etc.... looks like they did a great job! I can't get the link to work but it's on their site, go to the showcase section at the top left corner, they have a few shop cars listed.

That's funny....did they just finish this car? My gauges are in the same place and we even used the same insert for them.:koolaidwall:

Had a couple of questions about this system, i dont know if you guys could help me out with them. Since this system is mounted under the car and takes the extra heat out of the engine bay, could it be used for racing? Also did the problems with this system for the Z ever get resolved?

blackonorange 01-15-2012 10:57 AM

What problems?

I would but 58 pages of replies is going to take a very long time

edub370 01-15-2012 03:09 PM

what specific problems are you refering to?

tower74 01-15-2012 05:12 PM

Well I seen that Mike with GTM had posted a thread of why his system is superior to a single turbo system. So I took upon myself to send a message to Rick Squires(owner/CEO) at STS to come onto this forum and explain the system to everyone. Now if they actually do this is another thing. I'm hoping to recieve a response sometime tomorrow since I sent the message late last night.

The only problems I ever had was the fact that no one had ever done a automatic STS 370z tune for the AT7 and with the computer fighting us every step of the way. The computer was always trying to reset itself back to original. That was a fail safe for the car trying to protect itself from damage.
Since almost everyone does a manual build it was something I had dropped on them. It took a bit but it's done. The guys who installed my system had to basically design a new routing system it. Vernon a STS was the one who finalized the tune for my car. At the same time I sent them a message to ask if they had tweaked it any and if so to let me know.
