Carbon Fiber Interior Pieces??

Just here trying to see who may be interested...I have been all over the 350z forums for a few years now offering my services for them, so i figure i would see if the 370 guys are interested. What i would like to see is who would be into some cf wrapped pieces. I take the stock pieces and wrap them in Carbon Fiber.
No aftermarket crap. All pieces are stock pieces wrapped in real Carbon Fiber and finished with a nice clearcoat.
I usually have people ship me their stock pieces but I was thinking of buying some new ones and have them ready for trade. This is how it works...I get the pieces ready, i finish them and ship to you...you put them in your car and ship me your stock stuff back in return. Like i said i have been all over the 350z stuff and have done hundreds of parts over there...pictures of SOME of my work can be seen here...

Here are a few of the interior pieces I think would look great done in CF in the 370...Comparing to what ive done in the 350z...
Lemme see what kind of interest there is here..

oh and MODS, I am just gauging interest right now so please do not delete this...

NewYorkJon34 10-07-2009 11:47 PM

Make the door switch covers and I'll be your first customer, lol

DJcuetip 10-08-2009 12:32 AM

someone makes a pod cover but not complete replacement which i would like better.. along with the 3 guage tops.. how much are we looking at?

Carbon Fiber Element 10-08-2009 09:19 AM

which pod cover? who makes it?
these are the prices i would probably charge...
door switch pieces- 60 per side
3 center console gauge tops- 120 for the 3
speedo top-75
rear silver bar-200
2 big humps in trunk-400 for the pair

oh and all of these prices would also include your stock pieces in return once u receive the cf pieces

NewYorkJon34 10-08-2009 09:25 AM

Would the door switch covers be easy to make, and it would be real carbon fiber right? If so like I said I'll be your first customer ;)

okay, i see, this is kinda badly worded...and now it's confused me too!

Carbon Fiber Element 10-08-2009 10:24 AM

its not a pure carbon piece i make...i use real carbon fiber and wrap the stock pieces...i guess u could call it a permanent overlay...that is y i need stock pieces...understand?

how does the deal suck?...there is another way to go about it...u mail me your stock pieces, i wrap them in cf, and mail back to u...i need money for that because i do not work for free...ive been doing this for a couple years and hundreds of pieces, search my same name on my350z.com and u will see lots of my work.

NYBladeZ 10-08-2009 10:33 AM

You are making overlays, not replacements.

Who cares? We're talking about plastic trim-pieces, here...purely aesthetic. Would it really matter if they were complete replacements? Ahh, right...because then they would be so much lighter than stock and be considered a "performance upgrade."

Tony, the weave in the pic above looks amazing. Quality work.

Sorry to break your heart but, any overlay be it small or large is worthless. I do not care about the light weight on the interior, but overlay items are worthless pieces.

kenchan 10-08-2009 11:34 AM

id be interested in the speedo cover and door switch cover. overlay is fine
for me. i just dont want to see that metalish looking cheezy crap.

i was telling the sales guy at the dealer that the Z's cluster looked like some
cheezy boombox sold at bestbuy. (another way to get invoice. ;) )

Carbon Fiber Element 10-08-2009 12:07 PM

Maybe you should read your own thread and my other replies, also I am not that "one guy," there are plenty of us.
How about you become a forum sponsor first, also this is an open forum, if you do not like people expressing their opinions in your threads then do not post them.

rednek01 10-08-2009 12:27 PM

I think everyone on here has had decent points. Here is how I look at it

I kind of have a rating system

1 being terrible 10 being great

1-4 is fake carbon fiber (fake anything really) stick on over lay

5-9 is real carbon fiber (or real anything) over lay

10 is real carbon fiber (or real anything ) replacement

Now where exactly a product lies whether it be on those numbers or between them also depends on the quality of the piece and how closely it resembles the piece it is covering/replacing and how well the fitment is on said piece.

however just because you can doesn't mean you should also comes into play

case in point you can cover and or replace just about every part on the mustang with a chrome or billet aluminum something or other :barf:

kenchan 10-08-2009 12:33 PM

...you have a fake 370Z.. ;) jk

Damn so the Z badges all over it aren't fooling anyone?

shabarivas 10-08-2009 01:43 PM

So these are overlays? its like a ricer version of doing a LV interior lol

shumby 10-08-2009 01:50 PM

ya not down for an over lay. plus the down time with out the trim in my car. pass.

Carbon Fiber Element 10-08-2009 02:30 PM

im taking all of this in...i respect everyones opinion and realize this is an open forum...i will say this and only this and keep doing the work that i am doing...what i do is purely for looks, no weight savings, no added power...if u like the look of CF then maybe i can help some of u...if not then keep it stock...it may be a ricer thing to do but i feel the hundreds of other people with 350's i did work for would think otherwise...that is all...i will still post pics for any that may be interested....and i will become a sponsor if the demand is there....thank you and watch for pics. im not here to start fights and bicker with people.

kenchan 10-08-2009 02:37 PM

looking forward to the picts. :p

Any time someone doesn't like something they call it rice. Whatever don't let it get to you. Looking forward to see some more pics!

fuct 10-08-2009 03:03 PM

my first comment about it being a bad deal was because i didnt realize they were overlays.... that being said i wouldnt have even responded. im sorry but overlays are lame. i thought you were making complete carbon replacements. yes i know they arnt much lighter, its just the principle of it all. i thought you were making mercedes benz "black series" type pieces. actual replacement carbon parts.

i will walk away from this thread now.

Again...what difference would it be to you if they were full carbon-fiber replacements? It's not like the guy is selling cheap stick-on dash trim kits or covering these pieces with carbon-look vinyl, here. Oh, right...it's the principle. http://www.need2speed.com/vb_forums/...ies/jerkit.gif

Do you guys even have a clue? The cost of manufacturing full replacement trim-pieces, especially in such small quantities, would be exorbitant. You guys would be whining about him charging $1,400 for a small window-switch panel. I can't even think of many cars which have full carbon-fiber replacement pieces available for them, as molding all the clips in most trim is close to impossible. And a news-flash...if you think OEM carbon interior-trims in Mercedes, Audis, Porsches, etc., are full carbon pieces...guess again. They are all the same.

shabarivas 10-08-2009 06:32 PM

No its not really just the principle... I mean ... Why do you think racecars have CF body pieces? because they are structurally sound and are lightweight... not because it looks cool... my problem is this - people with regular cars wanting to make their rides more racey - get stick on overlays - I mean it doesnt even look good lol... honestly CF looks like fvcked up black paint from far...

Carbon Fiber Element 10-08-2009 07:51 PM

ok well mods i think its about that time this thread gets deleted...i can see where it is going and it is a waste of time...thank you all for your opinions, for those who may be interested i will post pics when i finish something...have a nice day!

NewYorkJon34 10-08-2009 08:16 PM

^Don't let some of the guys on here bother you, I'm sure they'll shut up after you post pics :)

NewYorkJon34 10-08-2009 08:24 PM

Can I buy the first set of carbon fiber switch panels covers that you have coming in? (After you CF them of course)

AJ@ECSMotorsports 10-08-2009 09:39 PM

Carbon fiber is/has always been a preference for looks and style rather than performance 90% of the time.

We're working with feather carbon for some interior trim parts as well :)

Keep an eye out for our products in the vendor/sponsor section!
