Gauges making noise..

Has anyone experience this issue? What happens is when I turn on and off the engine only my battery gauge makes a weird noise. It only makes the noise when the needles move. It's kind of a annoying does anyone know whats wrong?

Thanks

What constitutes "weird" in your book? A whine? Clicks? Whistles "Dixie"?

Maybe it sings Baby Got Back in Steve Urkel's voice...

Opps sorry, it sounds like a wind-up toy. but, it only makes it when the gauge needle moves.

They make what I would call a whirring sound on startup/shutdown. If they are not making noise otherwise, you should be OK.

Hmm I never really noticed it until last week. But why doesn't the other gauge make the same noise? Thanks SouthArk370Z.

My tach would do the whirring thing but I don't remember the volt meter doing it. There are a lot of things that make noise on startup/shutdown - gauges, ESCLs, TBs, radiator fans, &c - and something else may have been masking the sound.

Most cars do it nowadays. Check some other vehicles and see if yours is noticeably louder/raspier.

No wonder I can't hear mine anymore. I thought it was just old age.
