interior modifications questions.

Hey all, been looking at doing some updating to my interior. I've seen the '15 nismo interior and I'm a big fan of the subdued matte black accents. I own a '12 nismo and since seeming that I've really grown tired of the brushed aluminum. My question is this. Is there any way or what would be the best way to change the color ( paint, wrap, etc.) Of the interior pieces. The door handles and vents wouldn't be a complete pain as I could get some decent results with careful prep work and paint but my real dilemma is the hazard light switch and he s mode switch around the shifter bezel. I have no clue how to paint that and still retain a factory look. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No one??

Is it me or should Nismos be left alone.

Looking at ur sig, you should leave your base alone..

Recaro is the revamped '15 model. I have the '12 I'm looking at getting my interior more towards that style.

Interesting thread lol... Not one thing about trim pieces.

Look into hydro dipping what you want changed.

honestly i would just wait until the 2015 parts at available and get the actual nissan parts to replace the bits you want to replace...unless you want a specific color or something to match something in the interior.

looks good, but should really clean the console trim edges to make things really pop.
and rid them coins.. use a transponder.

Transponder? we don't have these things you talk of in North Carolina. (actually now we do, just not near CLT). Not sure why he keeps coins in his car actually.

Genius!

edliaszenik 11-12-2014 11:01 PM

Didn't think about hydro dipping. Would the light from some of the switches (s-mode and hazards) still be visable through the thin film? Also what is the going rate for hydro dipped pieces now a days? Last I've heard it wasn't exactly cheap.

90 ST 11-12-2014 11:10 PM

Its reasonable, price will vary depending on who does it in your area. As for the switches, you would have to take all of them out.

Read T 11-12-2014 11:13 PM

pricewise it's come down a decent amount. The water transfer I posted above was a practice/freebee since my brother was setting up his shop.

edliaszenik 11-12-2014 11:14 PM

So I found a Vin from a '15 so I've been playing around on the Nissan parts site. As of now it doesn't seem like the parts I want are available but on the bright side I'll be deploying soonish and hopefully when I get back these parts should be available from Nissan directly. And as they are just aesthetic changes they should be direct drop ins from my stock ones. I'd much rather go OEM for everything anyways.

edliaszenik 11-12-2014 11:16 PM

Cool if its affordable I might do that in the mean time just for ***** and giggles. But then again I could use money on making my car appear to be a way louder base model. Afterall that is what's important right?

edliaszenik 11-18-2014 10:56 PM

Anyone know if hydrodipping any of the switches would allow visable light to pass through? Id ile to have those switches black but still have the light function.
