Got bored tonight teaser.

I asked about this a while ago. No one appeared to have done it. So tonight I take the plunge. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/10/14/2u2y8uhy.jpg

Tadpole 10-15-2014 08:35 PM

That's pretty cool. I'm waiting on someone to get these lights to to move up and down like kitt! I wonder how many of you get this.

Gadgetech 10-15-2014 08:43 PM

I can see it working on the grey, white...maybe black. Not sure about the MB, silver and other red.

I like the gold and red combo but think that it would only look good with red. White LED's for any other color

Thanks for the compliments guys and girls. I was not sure about this mod and perhaps still not. All my cars since 2006 have had their fogs tinted yellow. I was hesitant to do this mod even though I had a roll of film from a couple of years ago.

As Jays370z mentioned damaging the light assemblies played on my mind a little. I am unsure how hot these DRL's get but I dont think ( and I could be wrong ) they get hotter than say H7 or other type of incandecent bulbs for fogs would? Then again I never drove with my fogs on all the time either.

If you take a closer look at the close up image of the right assembly pictured above you will notice what would appear to be some white condensation forming on the bottom area corner of the DRL. Both sides were like this after I went for a drive, yet they were not like this after application. I checked them a few moments ago and that white ish stuff aint there now. I initially thought it were perhaps a large air bubble but it was not.

Ideally I would like to mod the lights so that they are off when the light stalk is in the off position and come on when the light stalk is set to parking light onwards position.

Not a fan, I feel as though the yellow doesn't blend well with Magma Red paint.

Nice!

I haven't looked at the front lighting diagrams lately but it should be pretty easy to get them to turn on/off the way you want.

Seraphix 10-16-2014 08:50 AM

I like em man, they look amazing lit up.

Hi, Do you think ( after this mod ) logically they would also remain on when main beams are on also?

I am thinking cut one wire from each DRL and tap into the parking light perhaps.

SouthArk370Z 10-16-2014 10:21 AM

If the parking lights are on/off as you want with the DRLs then that will work. I suggest using an interposing relay to minimize loading of the PL circuit (may not be necessary, but it can't hurt). If there is already a relay for the DRLs, clip the coil wire and use PL to drive coil. If you can't figure it out, I still have the FSM on my HDD and should be able to guide you through it.
