Front bumper repainting

Is $420 pricey to have my front bumper repainted and have the front emblem shaved?

What do you guys think?

LostSol 10-08-2014 01:39 PM

Pretty normal, I was quoted 300-350 for just paint, so another 70 or so for the shaving isnt too bad

Ok cool

DEpointfive0 10-08-2014 01:42 PM

Sounds pretty ok.

Are they taking it off and repainting the whole thing?

zefaulter 10-08-2014 02:41 PM

Is that prepping and painting the entire bumper? sand/fill/prime/etc...?

kenchan 10-08-2014 02:53 PM

yah, especially the shaving will require more labor (fill/sand) so 420 sounds fair.

aszyd 10-08-2014 03:20 PM

Yes, that's fair. I was quoted something similar to shave and paint my bare 2015 bumper.

This is me taking the bumper off and taking it to the shop. They will remove the emblem, fill, shave, and repaint the entire thing. :)

My shop quotes 600 per panel and I find that to be a fair price (I'm in NYC btw, if youre in bumfcuk nowhere it should most definitely be cheaper for labor)

So your 420 with shaving sounds very good. Make sure they use a good amount of flex agent and inquire about what brand paint they use so you can verify quality through your own reading.

PS: my shop offers lifetime warranty on their paint work. Ask about that.
