Are there any plans for a front splitter though? I honestly think a functional splitter would be pretty popular. Just my two cents.

OKay I'l lwork on it after SEMA show.

EVOR 10-15-2009 08:42 PM

I have shipped couple of these out already. I'll try to get some pics from them.

So today I installed this...and I'm very impressed. First, this piece is great quality and the CF weave looks more uniform around the fangs than I expected. But it is more involved to install than I thought.

First, If your car has the front aero spoiler you will need to remove it as the cf piece fits past the spoiler. Then you need to re-drill the holes through the cf piece. The stock spoiler bolts are then going to be too short when you reinstall it. I happened to have some longer ones lying around. I like that this piece is bolted in plus they give you a roll of 3m tape for the edges.

BE VERY SPARING WITH THE 3M TAPE!! When I dry fitted the peice it fits very snug. I taped all the edges and when I went to put it on the bumper, it got all bunched up and would not fit properly. After about 15min of using a heat gun it finally came off. I ended up only putting a few pieces of tape on the top. I figure with the tight fit and the bolts on the bottom, its not going anywhere.

Also I highly recommend using some electrical tape on the fangs prior to any installation. In two of the pics you can see it fits so tight it scratched them up.
I love the look. The pics don't do it justice. The sun was not at a very good angle. You have to see it in person. I'm finally fang free:tup:

finaly some pics of this piece. Looks pretty good considering the pics arent the greatest. Im assuming u got both the fangs piece and the upper piece from evo-r correct? i'll be ordering these soon.

evo-r: any in stock?

NewYorkJon34 10-20-2009 07:05 PM

Why do most people not like the fangs? I don't think they look that bad ;)

cvega 10-20-2009 07:29 PM

i dont think there that bad either honestly but its def noticable to the eye when they are blacked out...

NewYorkJon34 10-20-2009 07:37 PM

It kind of reminds me of an Evo X all blacked out, and since my car is white, I'm sure it would def stand out more. I'll put it on my future mod list ;)

Thank you very much for the great review! Remember guys if yo uhave the plastic lower lip, you must remove it to put this on. As my sample bumper fon't have it on. Also no need to put too much 3M on. It fits perfect and screw in included for the bottom part! Lets see more pics soon...

^ I think by plastic lower lip, he means if you have a clear bra covering the fangs.

cvega 10-21-2009 06:25 PM

naw i think he means the front air spoiler that you get with the sport package...right under the fangs...

cvega 10-21-2009 06:26 PM

evo-r: do u have that upper c/f piece on top of the fangs in stock as well?

NewYorkJon34 10-21-2009 08:57 PM

That sucks you have to remove that spoiler piece, it's a bunch of bs really. It should have been made to use that piece instead of just tossing it to the side. :(

It still works with the chin spoiler on. You just have to drill extra hole. Check the photo.

You just need longer bolts since the stock ones will be a tad too short.

cvega 10-22-2009 10:10 AM

is it just me or is anyone else having trouble seeing items on the evo-r website?? PM sent

I cant remember exactly because I used what I had lying around, but anything over 1" would work.

kenchan 10-23-2009 11:46 AM

looks good... kinda has this  look.

NewYorkJon34 10-23-2009 01:18 PM

I'm glad to hear both can be connected with just a longer bolt, is there any way you could just include the longer bolts?

EVOR 10-24-2009 11:01 AM

Yes I can include longer bolt. But I don't know the size yet.

alexpila 10-24-2009 12:21 PM

Mike 10-25-2009 05:18 PM

I'm not a fan of carbon fiber, but it would hide a little off track mishap I had.

I can't remember of the top of my head but I believe there are at least 8 total bolts that mount the spoiler to the bumper.

alexpila 10-30-2009 11:05 AM

You have to drill out the 9 rivets.

No you shouldn't have to remove the bumper. You can re-install it with new rivets or I am sure you can find nuts & bolts to replace the rivets at the hardware store.

Flip this is gonna be hard it looks like its gonna be a mission to line up all the holes to redrill!!!

I might just cut off a section of the piece and secure it with 3m tape only...

M.Bonanni 10-30-2009 12:51 PM

No you don't need to re-drill anything once the rivets are out. Just pop a new rivet in the existing hole. You will need a riveting tool though if you don't have one already. Or just get some nuts & bolts that fit through the holes.
