yah, the top one's going to be a pita...

for the bottom one im going to drill a hole in the middle of the bolt,
hold the bit with my pliers and loosen the nut.

but the top one...hummm... not sure. i may take my dremel tool
and just cut it. :D

as MJ mentioned, the 4 corners need to be sanded a little bit.

this is the inter switch frame (screwed onto the cup holder trim from the bottom)

After trimming, mounted into the cupholder trim.

here is the LED strip under the seat. what i like about this is that it's not SUPER BRIGHT like those hot import nights stuff... it goes well with the factory mood light. :p

Hey Kenchan,

Can you show us a pic farther back of the LED.. kinda like an ambient glow pic overall (doesn't necessarily need to show the actual LED's; just want to see the glow lights up the car overall)

kenchan 10-10-2009 12:38 PM

Let me see if I can get a shot of that. I have no camera skillz and use my blackberry for these DIY shots. :D

Will see if my digital camera can capture it. It's not bright at all (how I want it) and rather just a low light red glow like the mood light.

The pedals and back of your legs reflect the light.

Interesting thread. Love the look.

kenchan 10-11-2009 05:32 PM

dcrew- sorry, i tried but i cant get a good pict with my camera. the red light is low key and would need a super slow shutter to get the glow.

no worries. Thanks for trying :icon17:

Just bought mine tonight, my list is going to be this depending on how things work out with some 2010 parts:
1) Rear fog light
2) Heated side mirror switch - Might try to tap this into the rear defroster but not 100% sure how hard/easy it will be
3) Not sure what to do with my third switch yet but thinking maybe some interior LEDs (amber to match stock color).

Thoughts on anything for the third switch besides just interior LEDs?

i am having problems with my fog lamp wiring. i have used the power and ground from the heated seat switches in my center console and wired them directly into an L.E.D. rocker switch in the center. from there i ran the power back to the fog light, my car has the harness in the back so i was able to use that ground. my problem is my switch keeps blowing so i have gone through two. is there too much amprage going to the switch from the fog light bulb? or am i just not using the right kind of switch?

Probably got a short somewhere.

The fog bulb is like a wedge 5w or something small. Shouldn't need anymore than a 1A fuse.

I like those rocker switches....I'm not sure which one to get I need a 3-position switch for my Blinder M27 Jammer. Could you guys help me with the selection?

I want to try to hook up a switch for a garage door opener. I think it may be easier and cheaper than adding home link to my base.

If you ever do this, I'm sure many (including myself) would love a DIY thread on it. It seems pretty basic but I haven't really any knowledge of circuitry. The idea i guess would be to hide the circuit board of an extra remote and hardwire it to a switch while tapping the power from an accessory wire?
