I connected the wiring from the Carbonsignal LED directly to the old wiring from the stock LED... am I missing something here?

you cant reuse the stock DRL

you need to buy OEM or Carbon Signal KIT or EVO R KIT

^Are there any aftermarket lights that look exactly like oem, but don't sell for OEM prices? All I can find are the ones like Evo-r, which I do not like. OEM just appears more "classy".

Yes, they do look Classier.

I think the Carbonsignal ones look better then EVO-R, because of the five lights instead of four. They look best painted PW on a PW bumper.

Or you can do what ZAtlanta_OG did and find a set with a lens which fit into the opening.
