Interest check - 2013+ Carbon Fiber lower front bumper cover

I saw in another thread that there was some interest in "blacking out" the lower front bumper on the 2013+ models, much like what was done with the fangs on the previous fascia. Currently, the only options are paint, vinyl, or plasti-dip.

I was wondering how many people would be interested in a CF cover for that part of the bumper.

Aerojacket is interested in producing this piece, however, they need a donor car. If there is anyone close to 90501 and would like a free cover, please contact them, or me, and I will pass the info on.

Since this idea is just in it's infancy, no pricing has been worked out with the fabricator. If it is possible to move forward, more details will be released.

Here is an example of what I am talking about, pulled from the previous thread. Just as a carbon add-on instead.

honestly i would just wrap it. it's basically a flat piece. do either dinoc or some new 4D wrap?
and you can remove it without scratching the bumper unlike them evo-r front cf pieces. :ugh2:

I was and still am considering vinyl, I wouldn't do dinoc though, just black.

Once I saw that there was some interest in an aftermarket cover, I reached out to someone here, who does good CF work, to see if he had any interest in fabbing up a cover. He said that he could do it if a donor car / bumper could be found.

If this can't come together, so be it. At least I know that I tried.

yah, id just do black vinyl in this case.

just use some wrapping paper or news paper to make your template... then cut away.

Wow, I'd love one! Looks pretty sweet.

I plastidipped mine and just didn't like the way it looks.

Doesn't hold the the same look like the pre-'13s but that it just imo.

Someone needs to do something for 13+ fronts...

aszyd 08-04-2014 10:40 PM

Damn... I was hoping this would be a little more popular. I could always try laying my own carbon. That would be fun.

Bumping this up!

I would purchase. AJ makes good products

Why dont they just buy that 90 dollar bumper from near me and use that to make mold?

aszyd 08-14-2014 01:45 PM

I can ask, but I would assume they don't want to ship a bumper across the country. That might cost more than just giving a local dude a free piece.

True, true. It would be easier for them to just get a donor car.

I just went to the garage and checked for some vinyl wrap. Unfortunately mine is too narrow for the lower piece else I was gonna try that route.

Anyone recommend a matte black that is easy to use and pliable? Raincheck that idea. I just remembered I got a clear bra in that area LOL
