I'm sure disasssembly and painting is possible; it just seems like the effort isn't worth it

plus, when taking the lens off, if you crack the lense, you're screwed. the tint wrap is easier and safer

Yeah just wondering.. I'd like the lights to match if possible. No where near doing light mods, but I finally got a cheap pair of spare headlights so it is on the horizon.

Really I am just wondering if anyone has attempted to do it, and if it's the same type of procedure as opening the headlights. I'll probably end up wrapping it if they don't look like they're sealed with the same type of butyl adhesive.

Looks like it is possible... Saw this post earlier in the thread and went looking for Carmen SanDiego (Scone hasn't logged in since '14)...

Check out user Scone. He tinted his DRL's and they look badass on a black Z.

He said he did it the same way as baking the headlights, you should reach out to him for more info

Zilverbullet, I actually baked all the lights, hydrodipped them in pearl black carbon fiber, and did a led mod on the main lights, and just painted the DRL housings. I'll post pics of the four more on my page as well.
