red accents on a MB Nismo?
Because Nissan's paint jobs suck ***, this summer I'm going to be re-spraying the front bumper on my 09 MB Nismo. I'll also be moving my front plate to behind the radiator cover, adding a tow hook, and getting rid of that stupid Nissan cheeseburger logo. Luckily for me a buddy of mine is a wizard when it comes to painting, bodywork, and building custom cars so this is going to be done professionally without costing an arm and a leg... the hard part is deciding what accents (if any) I want to add while we're at it.
I really, really like the 2014 paint scheme with the black accents and red stripes (on the white car). Are there any photoshop wizards on the forum who care to post up what those would look like on a car that's black? Feel free to add original ideas that deviate from the factory Nismo scheme as well. Heck, it doesn't even have to be red. I don't want overdone, but all-black is a bit boring IMO. |

I like it. Pretty much exactly what I was thinking with the red... didn't know they did gray on the air dam and ground effects for the black cars too, but it works.

Hummmm...

I think it might be a little too much to paint your car the same as that Nismo but replacing the gray with the red... I like the idea of red accents but I'd probably go a little smaller than what that Nismo has.

yah the two tone look is bad... well, that's just me.
i remember some indian kid at my old neighborhood who painted some honda's lower bits in a different color (orange on a white car, green on another white car, etc) it looked totally rice. |

On one hand that car looks sick, but on the other I've got the chance to do something one of a kind. |

I really like the MB with gray and a touch of red. Not too overdone IMO, but definitely gets attention (like my car doesn't get enough of that:rolleyes:). |
yah, i mean it's your ride so you know best wat's right for you. the two tone also reminds me of those 80's cars where the cheap trim didnt get painted bumpers, door handles, and lower trims. you remember those?
kinda reminds me of that too... |
I typically don't go for things like this, but you know, I kinda like those small bits of red trim on the black paint. And I also feel it still kinda fits, since the Juke Nismo has a similar feel as do recent Nismo Zs. It recalls the red calipers and even the tailights nicely.
Also, do the balloons with the red ribbons on the side mirrors! :) |

Best thing I can probably do is go to a Nissan dealer and see if I like it in person. All black with just the red trim bits is also a possibility. |
Red accents
Mismatched aero :icon14: |
Stupid Nissan dealer only has 2 Zs and neither one is a Nismo.
They do have a GT-R though. As a side note, why does the paint on the GT-R look like crap? I mean, when you pay over $100k shouldn't it come without orange peel?:wtf: |
orange peel can be a good thing though... PDR techs hide the dings within the bumps.
|
I'm kind of liking the idea of just adding the red accents and leaving everything else black... I'm afraid of making it look too much like a 1980's Monte Carlo though.:ugh:
