well, i think it's pretty obvious that it was an electrical problem, thus my earlier post. :D (just being sarcastic).

You mentioned the 02 sensor ... Is that covered my warranty if it is?

if you're running stock exhaust and was not smashed under the car, then yah, it should be covered. but who knows though, i cant really diagnose your car over the internet...

I think I know where that is...not sure how good the dealership is never dealt with them before...I would ask to see how it is before they fix it just so you know they are not trying to charge you for more than what it really is

If you paid for the warranty it should be covered if anything I would send an email to corporate AFTER THEY FIX THE CAR CORRECTLY about them not honoring the warranty.

Sounds like you have some experience with this.... Do you have that contact info?

Rattling and then death? Does it at least turn over before spluttering out?

I suspect the internals of the cat(s) went bad and are clogging up the exhaust.

Did you ever get the CEL code -- you can always buy a code reader at Autozone or walmart if you don't want to tow and it won't run.

Dude I'm way passed a code reader. I'm an amateur at this, and tried to take advantage of nissan roadside assistance/warranty. I'm just hoping I pay the deductible

I don't have any personal experience from it but I've read about a few ppl that had big problems with their Nissan dealerships and contacting headquarters and notifying them about the issue and getting it resolve.

This is exactly why I told you what you needed to do. You could have gone in with an idea of what the problem is. Now you're at the mercy of the dealer.

If it turned out to be something simple like a sensor you could have easily had someone in your local forum replace one for beer money. Being impatient gets expensive. Don't take this one too hard- what's done is done, but in the future it might be cheaper to rent a car for a day or two and fix it outside of the dealership if it's not going to be covered under your warranty than to drop it at the dealer with no clue what to tell them to look for.

Also, what was the oil level of the car when you checked it?

1slow370 05-15-2014 06:27 PM

If only you lived near me. I did a turbo install once for 2 kegs, a few boxes of energy drinks and 3 pizzas

It was a simple fix. I also reflowed my original fat several times but it became not worth the time it would stay up and running

1slow370 05-16-2014 08:45 PM

where i used to work we did reflow or reballing on a pro rework center. had dual temp sensors, camera, the works. Flashing xbox drives was always fun tho if you missed a step the new drive was junk.

1slow370 05-16-2014 08:50 PM

usually with the ps3 all you had to do was change the laser or unstick the arms

jwick 05-16-2014 08:58 PM

That's cuz Sony > Microsoft

1slow370 05-17-2014 06:17 AM

In the half year i woeked there i fixed hundreds of both systems. I only had to do like 5 wii dvd drives

I do realize I have 2 threads going on about this.... So I'll just copy and paste what I wrote in the other thread....

Ok guys I just got my car back. Turned out to be a major issue and thank Goodness I purchased an extended warranty. Take a look at what would have made me $11,000 poorer according to nissan......

I don't even understand some of the things on this list ...I'm just glad I got that extended warranty and paid the $50 deductible.

$11,000:eek::ugh2: You meant $1,100?:icon17:

Glad you have warranty! I just had same issue not too long ago. No CEL tho. I found the leak myself. I had to pay out of my own pocket. And of course after the repair, I found so many use radiators on sale for cheap here.:shakes head:

ZoroItaliano 05-25-2014 11:20 AM

No I meant 11k

Chuck33079 05-25-2014 11:24 AM

Not bad. Can't beat $50 for a new longblock. Gotta love a new zero mile motor in your car. Break it in right and monitor the oil level well.

ZoroItaliano 05-25-2014 11:26 AM

Chuck .. You bring up a good point..... My odometer reading is still 40k? Should it be like this? Also what do you suggest I do to break the car in right?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chuck33079 05-25-2014 11:33 AM

The car still has 40k miles on it. The odo is right. The motor has 0 miles. Read your manual for break in. Off the top of my head it's 1200 miles not taking it over 4k rpm, no cruise control. Also, vary your rpm often on the freeway and get some engine braking in to let the rings see some vacuum. You may use a little oil at first. Use dino oil not synthetic for the first ~5k miles or so, then switch.

Get in the habit of checking your oil once a week at minimum, and at least every other oil change send a sample out to Blackstone Labs for an analysis.

You pretty much scored here. Your warranty got you a brand new motor for $50. You just rolled back the clock on the car big time.

ZoroItaliano 05-25-2014 12:39 PM

Will do thanks again

Insane! looks like they took apart a ton of stuff to get to the issue, I can see that being in the thousands at Nissan, I may just extend my warranty once I reach 36k. I wonder if the Powertrain would have covered that, I assume no since you paid a deductible
