Looking for good quality license plate frame
Anybody purchased license plate frames for their Z,any recommendations.
Looking for solid quality metal, anybody ordered from the Z store motorsport.com, thanks for your help |
|
The thing is that I just ordered a nice flex fit hat with the Z logo from
" the Z store motorsportauto.com and I forgot that I wanted some license plate frames as well so I'm trying to order so they can ship all at once, just don't know the quality, now I can't get a hold of them even though they're open. Some guy put a bad review on the ones they sell on Amazon.ca, thin metal, flimzy. Quote:

I have had the black metal nismo frame pictured above for two years and have been very satisfied with it. Sturdy and cleanly made. Came with with finishing caps for the bolts and adhesive foam backing so it doesn't rattle against the bumper under vibration.

i bought mine from griot's garage. it's a matte black metal frame. i also have a polished one i bought from an ebay store a while back which is basically the same as the griot's one and high quality... i just can't remember the name of the manufacturer or store... :ugh:
dont just buy some cheap arse frame. cause you get wat you pay for. :ugh2: i too am not into frames with lots of letters cause it just makes the car look too busy. |

Got mine from thezstore.com aka Motorsport Auto. It is gloss black with the "370 Z" laser etched out. Gives it a cool look. |
I picked up a pretty nice, solid, chrome frame and the same frame in black (for the front) from Autozone.
|
Plain stainless steel frame with plexiglass cover from Advance Auto Parts on mine.

Just ordered the same from the Z store, they look good on the site until I read your post, so they should be nice so thanks guys for your awesome pictures and replies.

I bought a matte black metal frame from Amazon for about 7-8 bucks. I can't justify spending more than that on a frame for some reason... It's been a few months and it's just as clean as when I bought it. Didn't want any letters or writing on it because I feel like it's "too much"

You could always make one,
Items you will need. Bubble gum, band aids, popsicle sticks, any color spray paint of your choice. Use bubble gum to hold sticks togather, place band aids over sections where sticks meet. after your done paint. :icon17:

Don't remember where I got it, but I have the black one with a single Z centered on the bottom.
What *I* don't get are the people who use the dealer frames that advertise the dealer name on them. Ick! |

I also take those damn dealer decals off my cars immediately. |

My favorites are the ones from like JD Byryder & other bad credit used lots. When I see someone with one of those on their car it's like they're saying " My credit sucks!" |

I told my OCD wife that I wished the dealer hadn't bothered to put that decal on my car. Ten minutes later it was off ;) |
Wait, what?! What Wife model # did you get?!? Are they sold out?!

Bought the black NISMO plate for my Z back in 2009 and it still looks perfect
Matches the silver/black theme of my car http://www.the370z.com/members/waizz...23368-rear.jpg |
yah, with a busy plate like that, the frame does not pop out as much.

Good point, plus since the frame doesn't cover the whole plate it allowed for the artist's name to be shown through in the corner |

everything looks contained. |
