The thing is that I just ordered a nice flex fit hat with the Z logo from
" the Z store motorsportauto.com and I forgot that I wanted some license plate frames as well so I'm trying to order so they can ship all at once, just don't know the quality, now I can't get a hold of them even though they're open. Some guy put a bad review on the ones they sell on Amazon.ca, thin metal, flimzy.

I am 100% satisfied with mine.

I have had the black metal nismo frame pictured above for two years and have been very satisfied with it. Sturdy and cleanly made. Came with with finishing caps for the bolts and adhesive foam backing so it doesn't rattle against the bumper under vibration.

kenchan 04-28-2014 11:53 AM

i bought mine from griot's garage. it's a matte black metal frame. i also have a polished one i bought from an ebay store a while back which is basically the same as the griot's one and high quality... i just can't remember the name of the manufacturer or store... :ugh:

dont just buy some cheap arse frame. cause you get wat you pay for. :ugh2:

i too am not into frames with lots of letters cause it just makes the car look too busy.

Got mine from thezstore.com aka Motorsport Auto. It is gloss black with the "370 Z" laser etched out. Gives it a cool look.

MacCool 04-30-2014 10:51 AM

I picked up a pretty nice, solid, chrome frame and the same frame in black (for the front) from Autozone.

Plain stainless steel frame with plexiglass cover from Advance Auto Parts on mine.

Another fan of Griot's here...

yea ive never understood why people buy frames that say "NISSAN" or "370Z" or something of the sort. you already have everything written on your car. another license plate frame saying the same thing makes no sense!!! "NISMO" i can kind of understand, but if you have a nismo 370z like i do, its pointless.

Got_Z 05-01-2014 01:17 AM

I bought a matte black metal frame from Amazon for about 7-8 bucks. I can't justify spending more than that on a frame for some reason... It's been a few months and it's just as clean as when I bought it. Didn't want any letters or writing on it because I feel like it's "too much"

You could always make one,

Items you will need.
Bubble gum, band aids, popsicle sticks, any color spray paint of your choice.

Use bubble gum to hold sticks togather, place band aids over sections where sticks meet. after your done paint. :icon17:

( Click to show/hide )
Remember, if the band aids let go your ok, if bubble gum lets go your FU*KED...

Don't remember where I got it, but I have the black one with a single Z centered on the bottom.

What *I* don't get are the people who use the dealer frames that advertise the dealer name on them. Ick!

Yeah really! I'd have to be paid advertising.... you think they'd let you put a sign in their store? Not!
I also take those damn dealer decals off my cars immediately.

Not to go totally OT, but I sell plate frames - and A LOT of people leave them on their cars.

My favorites are the ones from like JD Byryder & other bad credit used lots. When I see someone with one of those on their car it's like they're saying " My credit sucks!"

That's exactly what I did. And the same thought process.

+1

I told my OCD wife that I wished the dealer hadn't bothered to put that decal on my car. Ten minutes later it was off ;)

Wait, what?! What Wife model # did you get?!? Are they sold out?!

IME, she's a limited edition and quite hard to find--especially in later models. The purchase price was very reasonable, but maintenance costs can be quite high. With proper care, the performance can sometimes be surprising. :D

Well if you didn't notice, I don't have a "370 Z" badge on my car, thats why I got the 370 Z license plate frame. I'm sick of people saying, nice 350Z... lol. I am not a fan of those ones that have weird colors on them and such.

Waiz 05-06-2014 07:21 PM

Bought the black NISMO plate for my Z back in 2009 and it still looks perfect

Matches the silver/black theme of my car

yah, with a busy plate like that, the frame does not pop out as much.

Good point, plus since the frame doesn't cover the whole plate it allowed for the artist's name to be shown through in the corner

also the plate mount area on your Z33's bumper is smaller and rectangular so it gives the area a nice clean outline.
everything looks contained.

I had such bad service that I blurted out "I'm taking those frames off the second I get home" when I was doing a walk around with the salesman. He asked me why and I just laughed it off.

shaun66 05-07-2014 12:53 AM

I just realized I've had dealership plates for the last 4 years :ugh2: never really payed attention to it.

Mine has some nice, high performance 305/35s in the rear. Mind you, they get slippery when wet.

cobra 05-07-2014 04:30 PM

Bought some from the Z store, hope they're nice.

LC370z 05-07-2014 04:40 PM

I have the silver frame that has the Z on the bottom
