That looks sick man!

I gotta admit, the biggest concern I have with cracking open headlights is moisture. I bet you siliconed the crap outta those when putting them back together, eh? Also, what preventative measures do you take to make sure there's no moisture in em when you reassemble?

This is what I used when I reassemble the lights. Its factory sealant, also you take a spoon and push the original sealant back into the groves.. When you heat them up to reassemble the sealant get real pliable. Putting pressure on both sides of the light with mush them together. When the sealant cools off Bam, the lights are tight and sealed.

Only other thing that would allow moisture in is the access lid. If improperly put on it allows moisture in. Easy way to fix it is to open the access lid and blow dry the inside. Then put the lid on correctly. No need to take them off to do this, just undo some fender shroud pop out pins to get access to it.

Any way hope this helps..

Very interesting! How many headlights have you done now, Joe?

Local 5 sets.. 3 have been complicated lens conversions and halos.. Forum members Zero!! Guys don't like to ship lights, makes down time to long for most. Also the DIY took off like crazy, lots of guys kicking a$$ after see it.. Would rather an owner do it there selves and call me when they need help or guidance. Instead of telling someone how much to pay me !!!!

I have 2 local/forum guys pending. When they are ready I'll be around.. If I had more work I would invest in air gun. I am currently working to get a Hydro Dip Sponsor and start doing Gun Metal, Black Chrome Badges and Door Handles and Lights..

To be honest, their is a lot of silicone on both parts of the light once you pull it apart, you would be surprised. I didn't add anymore silicone or sealant after reassembling them. Many others have said the same.

The worst part for me was the separation. I made a video DIY of the whole process, check it out

That's bold, bro! :)

You've done the roof, fangs and hood..it's time to do the emblems and handles black to complete the look.

Japanjay 02-24-2013 11:58 PM

I actually like the silver on those peices. Since the headlights have some silver and the engine cover does too. That is the reason the lettering on the strut bar uses silver as the shadow in the blue lettering. Blue, orange, silver and black. Had so many people wanting pictures. Lots of people complementing the wheels and stating they love bright wheels. Not many people breaking form the normal black, grey/silver, gold/bronze wheels.
