Perfect for the three lane roadways here too, I can basically see the 2nd & third lanes without issue at that angle, and by the time they are out of view on the mirror itself, I'm seeing them with peripheral anyway.

Exactly. Pretty much you should see a car coming from your rearview. As soon as it leaves the rear, it should be in your side mirrors, as soon as it leaves the sides, it should be in your peripheral. Hasn't failed me yet! The link posted gives a great overview! :tiphat:

So few people know how to use side mirrors...
As stated in previous posts objects should travel from peripheral to side mirror to rear mirror to side mirror to peripheral. There's no need to see your car in your mirrors as that's just overlapping with your rear-view mirror's visibility, diminishing your side visibility and creating/increasing your blind spot.

Granted you're likely overseas so it may be acceptable but that's illegal here in Australia. Not that it stops everyone from doing it - it doesn't give anyone else enough warning.
