What do you use to clean and polish the dash?

The dash in the Z isn't leather nor plastic. What products do you guys use to polish and clean?

kenchan 03-27-2014 12:50 PM

i dont "polish" the dash, but i use SpeedShine and a MF towel to clean it. then follow it up with a light coat of Prima Nero 50/50 with water.

if the interior is dirty, then you can buy InteriorCleaner from griots. works great for carpet stains.

enkei2k 03-27-2014 12:51 PM

I have the Meguiar's one to clean the interior although I rarely use it

b15 03-27-2014 12:51 PM

I use Meguiars quick interior detailer wipes. Doesn't leave a greasy/shiny mess.

jburke26 03-27-2014 12:52 PM

I have only previously wiped it down with a damp cloth. But I just ordered some Adams Interior Detailer. Going to give it a go this weekend and will see how it does.

kenchan 03-27-2014 12:52 PM

wipes belong on baby's butt.

So that means I can use these wipes on the rear bumper too then? :icon17:

onzedge 03-27-2014 12:59 PM

Mr. Kenchan -- Is CRC MAF Cleaner OK to use on the dash?

Joey o 03-27-2014 12:59 PM

Aerospace 303 on interior and exterior black trim, tires. Has SPF in it to avoid fade

onzedge 03-27-2014 01:02 PM

No no no.

Kenchan would advise you to use motor oil. It'll leave a nice sheen. If you use synthetic, you'll get torque steer

two squirts of this into your detailing MF towel... wipe

it's a QD but it works very well for cleaning plastics and rubber bits.

:wtf2:

kenchan 03-27-2014 01:12 PM

then dillute prima nero with water 50/50. spray once into MF towel and wipe onto dash.

kenchan 03-27-2014 01:13 PM

ive pretty much tried them all.

Aerospace303 is good too, but not as matte as Nero.

jaedub 03-27-2014 01:16 PM

I only keep my exterior clean for the most part. Inside's a little dusty. But if I do clean it once in a while, I use damp cloth. Since the dash isn't leather or anything fancy, it doesn't require whole lot of care.

Zteve 03-27-2014 01:17 PM

turtlewax ice for the dash/covers and the stiched leather parts/steering wheel i use einzett lederpflege

mine too. i dont like dust so just use my slightly damp MF towel to wipe clean. but i recommend anyone with a new car to apply PrimaNero BEFORE you get any scuffs, expecially on the door panels.

i also use california interior duster at times.

kenchan 03-27-2014 01:20 PM

anyway, that's plenty of tips for today from me. :D

falconfixer 03-27-2014 01:28 PM

Damp cloth for me. If it's really stubborn I use MEK.

**disclaimer, do NOT use MEK**

Masterbeatty 03-27-2014 01:29 PM

I use the griots garage interior cleaner. It cleans and conditions. Then I wipe it again with the plastic / vinyl cleaner which has uv protection.

They smell really good to me. but finally you have to rinse with a damp clothes. :tiphat:. so of u are lazy, water and a fiber clothes is enough. :tiphat:

Blu Z 03-27-2014 09:58 PM

I think I've only had to clean the dash once so far, but I use Meguiar's Supreme Shine and a microfiber towel. It cleans & offers UV protection without being greasy. It's a higher gloss product, but they offer a natural shine version as well.
