Am I crazy, or is it missing something?
 

I know aesthetics are completely personal and everyone has their own opinion of what a good looking car is. But ever since I painted my headlights black, I'm not sure if I like it anymore. I feel like they're to black for the pearl white lol. I feel like I messed up by painting them all black and not leaving the shrouds silver to offset everything.. So I feel like my car is missing something, like it needs that “cherry on top” kind of thing. Not sure if it's the rims, the headlight, or if I'm just crazy. Also my Stillen lip has died, so I'll be getting an Evo-R lip, and was considering some CF mirror covers to add some more black and hope it makes a difference?

Anyhow, any suggestions or opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance :tiphat:

If your willing to change your headlights again, id do the the Shrouds in White or go even crazier with Pearl White Housing and Black shrouds.

If you dont want to change the headlights then add a gloss black vinyl roof and black side view mirrors and everything will tie in perfectly.

Maybe black out or color match the door handles too.

Hm...It would be one thing if the fangs were white. Then I'd hate it. But with those black it isn't bad. But I would paint the door handles...maybe black rims?

I like the black on the mirrors too.

I wouldn't mind doing white/pearl white shrouds. I was thinking of using some paint thinner on the shrouds but I'm scared of ruining the silver finish on them. Black vinyl roof is a great idea!!! Completely forgot about that!

Yeah, I agree with what others have stated..

If you're willing to open the lights up again. Make the Orb Part White & leave the rest black on the headlights..

As far as the rest of the car, you can:
Dip Black Handles
Dip Black Emblems
Black Vinyl Roof
Dip Side Markers Black Outer Ring, With White Z Emblems
Extend black on fangs down onto Stillen Lip
Dip Side Mirrors Black
Also, it might look nice to get some white plastidip and white-out one of the cross lines on the fang. The middle one would look good white, and leave the other 2 lines black.

Also, stock tow hook in the trunk. Remove that, get some white dip, and add it to the front bumper. It adds more contrast to the front of the car...

if you add more black your car's going to look like a panda.

I agree with Nick. Dip the emblems for sure. The mirror covers and lip will help. I don't think the color of your rims is working. Maybe gloss black so it fits the rest of the car.

If you want to start over with an unmolested set... just let me know ;) I like it, but I have dipped emblems and handles, my lip and blades were also black.

I would do the shrouds white and black out the roof

Do badges/handles/mirrors

This is what I was going to suggest! haha

Stuff an intercooler in there and you'll be all set.

you need spacers in the back badly!

Actually a red cherry on top would be nice.

Think the wheels are throwing everything off. Change the color or get some polished wheels and i think it would be set.
They seem too dull

I apologize for the lack of responses you guys. thanks for all the posts, I've really appreciated all the input and ideas. Ive been working 16 hour shifts since monday due to a shortage of staff, great for my paycheck but all I've been doing is sleeping as soon as i get home lol.

soo, now that I've gotten some free time.

im considering changing the rim color first. Id much rather have the headlight shrouds in silver but its such a paining the *** to get them removed and opened.
Ill most likely go with the Forgestar-F14, super deep concave and go with a darker color. Not sure which yet since they have so many cool looking colors lol.

Ive also decided to do my roof black, and CF mirror covers. I'm not sure if i want to do the emblems black because i also don't want to much of a panda thing going on lol. If all else fails and i still don't like how it looks, i might just open my headlights again Or just trade them and start all over. But i think a change in rims would definitely make a difference, maybe i can Powder coat these for now.

yeaahhh.... seems like its going to be the quickest and easiest way to deal with this. To be honest I've been lazy to remove the bumper and get the headlights out lol.

I think the car looks great, but I do like simplicity. I would paint the emblems,side markers, and door handles black. I would also consider carbon fiber mirror covers and b pillar covers just to add something to pop out on the side of the car.

Everyone seems to be suggesting door handles, emblems, and side markers so I'll just give it a go with some plasti dip lol

on a white car black is a bit much without any other contrast. a matte gunmetal would have looked a bit better and left the shrouds silver IMO

To be completely honest, I think it looks good the way it is. I would only black out the handles and that's it. I color matched my emblems and it looks so much better to me. If you don't like the emblems, just grab a can of black dip.

this would look good on my z. If you wanted to swap with cash let me know, I could see why you don't like it but I plan on balcking out my doors, badges and front of car. hit me up if you are interested.
