I hit two raccoons this week..
 

Driving down the highway in the early morning and two large racoons ran out infront of me. $1300 repair shop estimste, but I just pay my deductible.

Um... No reason that's $1300. Maybe $600-700

Make a hat out of them out of spite of hurting your Z or head rest covers.

Remove the angry bird. Cut off the raccoons tails and hang them there instead so other raccoons know what you're capable of....

We have deer down here...they are so much worse! Sorry about your car OP!

First animal hit with my Z was a possum. Stupid thing was 90% across the road, paniced and turned around to run right into my bumper. :mad:

This poor thing was maybe a foot from the white line on the other side of the road.. a foot from safety.. and turned around and ran right into my bumper! I don't think I killed him though, I think I just violently shoved him in a random direction. :driving:

My chin spoiler has a 6-8 crack underneath from hitting a big 'ol fat raccoon less than a month after getting my Z.

Poor thing?! Cleaning up the gene pool if you ask me. :shakes head:

I don't really like needlessly killing things, but I'm damn sure not going to swerve all over just to miss them. You know how insurance companies are. :shakes head:

Either way OP still has to pay the deductible, what difference is it if he finds another shop or not.

This thread gives me flashbacks to when I lived about 30 miles into actual farm country... Bastards would stand up on their hind legs to attack right before I mowed em down with the bumper of my truck lol

been dodging those suckers as well as possums and skunks. with my 4wd i could care less

Looks like that raccoon left a black stipe on your car. No worries, it should buff out.

uhhh you should go back to the body shop. they painted the sports chin where the license plate mount goes...yellow? its supposed to be black, as well as the grill area above the fangs. you found a lazy shop.

The shop owner called me early yesterday asking me my opinion on it. I told em to paint it all yellow. It looks more like a Cavalier bumper now, but i think its kinda unique.

What'd ya do with the coons? They're a little tastier than possum and not near as fattening.

EDIT: For the record, it doesnt look bad. Just looks like a shop half assed it. But if you like it, then thats all that matters!

well heck I didnt like the front bumper in general when I bought the Z. I thought of switching to a stillen front bumper.. but now I love the look! If I dont like it after a few weeks i can always take it back or plastidip it.
