Painted door handles
Thinking about having my door handles painted to match my car. I saw another Nismo on here that had it done and it looked good to me.
Just wondering if anyone else has done this and how much it cost. Thanks for the input :tiphat: |

I know they're not painted nor color matched but I plastidipped mine with anthracite & gloss finish for under $15. Just FYI.

I am looking to offer a group buy on painted door handles, look at my build thread for how we do it. cost would be right around the $200 range and would need to do colors in at least groups of 4 or more. I am in the process of buying a core set and will be able to paint, send, wait for return core. obviously there will be a cost/credit involved to do it that way. (cost to purchase new core if not returned in reasonable time frame) If the interest is there, I will do it. we completely disassemble and rebuild door handles. fwiw i was quoted 165 from a local body shop, but they will not take the handles apart and rebuild (properly) anyhow, way worth it, looks awesome on the car |
oh yes, if your wondering would we paint manifold covers like I had mine done

Why would the handles need to be rebuilt?

see my build thread. the handle part of the door handle kit if you will, is riveted together. it does not unscrew. so if you want to paint properly behind the handle, you have to take it apart, and re assemble it. we tapped where the rivet was and insert new screw with locktite, so its as strong as it would be from the factory |
Got ya. Thanks, I'll look.

I LOVE it. Can't wait to get mine done

I did mine black with plasti-dip. Was very easy.. tho obviously not as good as getting them painted..but for a temp thing its perfect
|
Yeah. Mine wasn't taken apart when painted so you can see the silver underneath when you open the door handle. Besides that, it looks good. I had mine painted just a normal gloss black.

looks GREAT, that gives me a perfect idea of what mine will look like next week.
Thank you |

finally got the door handles off and painted, it only cost me $120 to get them done.
I love them and had a couple people already comment on them. Thanks everyone for your help:tiphat: |

I picked up my pearl whites yesterday, going on this weekend

If I were you I would just vinyl wrap them. Paid a guy $20 at my work. I used 3m 1080 gloss black wrap. It's easily reversible, leaves no residue, doesn't scratch or chip, and it's extremely durable.
Not a 370z but you get the point. http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/...ps62895555.jpg http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/...ps57aed04e.jpg |
