Help needed!!! Condensation in the rear

I test drove a 09 40k 370z n when I inspected the trunk it had condensation on the spare on the wheel...normal? Other thing I noticed was that the rim was upside down in there, does that seem normal since the cars I had in the past had the spare facing up? Can anybody go outside n check their spare if the wheel has condensation at your guys' earliest convenience?

I made a similar thread but it was a bust since it got really off topic so please stay on topic

None on mine, but that doesn't mean anything is wrong with that one you drove.

shouldnt have condensation back there.

donut facing down is normal

Moved to correct section

I would make sure the carpets or seat are not damp.

If they are either it was left withe windows open or the windshield/rear hatch seal is damaged.

I would check to make sure that it wasn't in a flood or something.

Have someone run the VIN as a safety precaution

I checked the carpet in back but not wet or damp...I'll ask for a car history report. Salesman also said that it was recently pressure washed

Were they pressure washing it from 6 inches away?

But again it's the dealer washing it so it's NOT surprising.

Make sure whatever you have an issue gets fixed and if they make a promise be sure you get in writing.

Once you sign on the dotted line you're officially screwed.

Good Luck.

I agree.

If there's any hesitation move on to another Z :driving:

There should be zero condensation in the lights and the spare well, regardless of whether it was pressure washed or not.

The light, by itself, is not a big deal. Sometimes the seal leaks. Seller should replace the light.

The damp spare worries me. Probably a hole in the floor or a leaky hatch seal. But it could be a poor cleanup job after a flood.

The two combined sounds to me like something has happened to the car (flood/wreck/&c).

As other have suggested, I advise you to RUN, not walk, away from that dealer. At best, he/she is misleading you.

The first 30 posts of the last thread on this car said the exact thing. BUY A DIFFERENT CAR.

while doing dynamat, i think i remember seeing drain holes in the trunk. i suppose if they pressure washed hard enough it *could* back into the car.

You mean photoshopping dynamat in your trunk, lol

There are drains, but those aren't budging even with a pressure washer pointed directly at them.

Most likely it was in a fender bender and they didn't put the weather strip on correctly

Run away? $20k for an 09' with 40k miles that comes with a small jacuzzi in the hatch sounds like a GREAT deal to me! I'm sure if you requested, the salesman may throw in some little gold fishies inside your tail lights ;)
