squesky driver side seat

Hello friends! :hello:
Does anybody also having a squeaky seat? Apparently my driver side seat has been making this squeaky noise since a year ago and it is getting so annoying. Normal driving is fine but when car surges up and down it starts to squeaky again.:eekdance: The problem is, I can't find where it is coming from! I don't know if it is coming from inside of the seat or where seat gets attached to the rail?? It sounds exactly same as an old mattress that squeaks due to old springs inside. :roflpuke2: Anyone having same problem?
Thanks!:tiphat:

yah, if its inside the seat i dont think you can fix it. see if your fasteners to the floor is loose or not. shoud be 36ft/lbs. if i remember correctly, i think it was either a 12mm or 14mm

ugh!!! all the fasteners are tightened! I believe it is from the inside of the seat... :( because it is exactly the same squeaky sound from old mattresses... T^T I'm crying

I totally feel ya... Nothing is more annoying than this squeaky noise from the seat. One time it got so annoyed that I was jumping up and down hard as I can with my butt hoping it will stop the noise. no luck...:shakes head:

I've got the same problem. Not sure what part of the seat is squeaking.

Do you guys have touring seats too?

I suppose it's time for Bride or Recaro seats ...

I have the base model seat. But I'm sure the structure/built inside of the seats are same, both base and touring model so we all going to have same squeaky noise :inoutroflpuke:

There was a service bulletin on these awhile ago. Did you use the search engine? It had the all of the information on it. I took my my car and had it fixed. Check it out with your dealer.

the service bulletin for the knocking noise during fast turns was already done... by me. it's not that. unless you know of one dedicated for squeaking noise, or boing noise caused by fatarse smog checker. :ugh:

I have a squeaky seat too! I just learned to live with it!

dudesky 01-26-2014 10:39 PM

wow I guess I'm not the only one! I am trying to live with it BUT! sometimes it gets me really bad. Sometimes I'm like ehhh whatever but sometimes I go wild ARGGHH!!!!!

mfeinst 01-26-2014 11:39 PM

I have it, too. I think it's down near the adjusting knobs on the left side. if you pull up from the black plastic piece under the knobs, it will squeak 'on demand' hahaha. Probably something that can be handled with a little WD-40.

WD-40 (and other oil-based products) may not be compatible with the foam or covering. I'd try some graphite or silicone spray.

Just soak your seat in WD40!

dudesky 01-27-2014 08:15 PM

lol I guess I gotta buy a bucket of WD40 and just soak the whole seat lolol then just put a vinyl cover over the seat so I don't get soaked :)

I know I'm late to the thread, but I was having a very annoying squeak coming from under the left front of the driver's seat. I've been trying to track it down for weeks, and finally decided to remove the seat (well, I removed the 4 bolts, but left the seat in place). I have leather seats in my Z, and turns out what was causing the squeak was leather on leather rubbing. This was happening when driving on unsmooth roads and/or I put the weight of my left leg completely on the front of the seat. I happened to have some mink oil paste on hand, so I used my finger to rub it in between the underside of the seat between where the leather was folded on itself and on the hidden leather surface anywhere it came into contact with metal or plastic, and finally the sqeak is gone!
