Aftermarket wheel hub adapter, quick release advise for track
 

I'm thinking about upgrading my stock wheel to aftermarket for track. With the research I've done so far, correct me if I'm wrong but I need the following:

Wheel hub adapter + quick release + steering wheel

The trouble I have is finding a great setup for track (the smallest slop/play within the spline, and quick release system)

Hub adapter: (I believe it's Vehicle specific)
This is probably the one I have the most question about. Is this the part that keys into the spline of the OEM wheel and adapts to either a quick release or directly to the aftermarket wheel? Can someone also confirms that this is vehicle specific? If that's the case, which hub do you guys recommend? I'd assume a quality one will have less play than a cheap one since it mates onto the spline, or am I completely wrong on this part and it engages purely by compression of the nut.

The only 2 I found are:

Are there other brands that makes it? Review?

I saw some dedicated track car just completely skip this hub adapter and straight up weld the quick release to the spline, I prefer to not do that in case I still want to use my stock wheel.

Quick Release: (I believe this is not vehicle specific/ universal)
From talking to some people they recommended me to look into Rennline for quick release. Some say they make one of the best because of the little to no play within the steering wheel and has a tear drop shape fitting so one can quickly slip on without worrying about wrong orientation. That same person also told me this part is where I should not cheap out on. Does anyone know how it compares to NRG? NRG seems to be pretty popular but I wonder how it is for track. Also can someone tell me can I just buy any quick release or do they come with different bolt pattern interface with the aftermarket steering wheel (in my case a Nardi)?

I picked up a Nardi Deep Corn Torino 330mm.

Hey scruff, to install the Nardi wheel your going to need a hub which is vehicle specific. That mounts straight to your splined steering column and then the Nardi mounts on to that.

You do not specifically need a Quick Release, its just an option to add in between the hub adapter and the Nardi. Most racers use the quick release when they have race seats installed, as it can be a pain to get in and out of the car with the high bolsters of the seats and the steering wheel in the way.

Essentially all you need is hub adapter + aftermarket wheel

I actually will have a 6 pt harness with a fixed bucket seat. So i think i will look into both the hub and adapter. I just want to figure out which will get me the best precision with the least play.

So NRG is the only brand I found for the hub, and I got recommended to look into Rennline for quick release do to it's neat teardrop shape feature and least amt of play.

I have not been able to take apart my steering wheel to understand what actually attaches to the spline or which component will introduce play. So any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've got the works bell with a sparco wheel and love the combo

scruff, the hub adapter is what actually attaches to the splined portion of the steering column you then have 2 options:
1. Attach the aftermarket steering wheel directly to the hub adapter or
2. Attach the Quick Release to the hub adapter and then attach your aftermarket steering wheel to the Quick Release

If you go with the NRG hub your going to need a quick release as its a short hub.
