Interested in painted tailights? Updated with pics 9/3/09 :D

My car is currently at Artcraft having some work done. A part of that work is custom painted tailight tint! thats right they are going to paint my tailights black with clear. I got to see a few samples yesterday when I brought them some new parts and I must say it looks AMAZING. Much better than any overlays or DIY tint schemes! I am reserving the next post for pictures and a review. The great thing about the painted tailights is that they can do fades, blocked off sections and any level of darkness you want from barely dark to straight up gangsta black! I am going middle of the road that makes the chrome reverse sections look like black chrome and the rest looks like 20% tint. If your interested let me know on this thread so I can get club pricing for everyone ;)

Stay Tuned!

Mike

You are going to love them. Professionally painted is the only way to go. I had mine done by Autoglo in Tucker.

nogoodname 08-27-2009 12:51 PM

painted is the best.

i got overlays just in case if i had to remove them........
if i had to remove, chances are a junk yard set of lamps to swap in is cheaper...lol

i am so down for this. i had painted taillights before and imo its much better than overlays. just tell me where bullitt and ill b there. plus a discount wont hurt.

Wait, you've had overlays done on your Z? Most of the overlay jobs done on the Z has been questionable due to the odd shape of the taillights.

^^ nogood has a G.....not a Z....probably why he was able to do it.

bullitt5897 08-27-2009 05:17 PM

I have 20% rear overlays unused if anyone wants them... I also have the rear valence overlay as well unused. I will let them go for cheap!!! just to get rid of them since I am having everything custom painted :D

Member here, takimbe, has an interesting setup on his tail-lights. I searched around but could not find more info. I think these look great (ala Mercedes AMG).

the G is equally as hard if not more because the lamp is bigger.

it looks flat but it's actually not in real life....lol

any good tint shop should be able to do it.

That's overlay by BlueBatmobile.

eddieconfetti 08-28-2009 01:19 AM

hey bullitt. are you going to paint ur rear valence? i heard painting rear valence is not good in the long run. heard overlays would be better for rear valence while taillights would be better painted. idk. how much u be selling ur rear valence.
