2 Questions for those who have blacked out headlights

Ive noticed a lot of people have used the krylon fusion paint, without sanding or priming the surface of the housing. just wondering how its held up over time for you guys?? seems like it wouldn't hold to long.

also, any ideas on what to sealant to use that can be remelted incase i need to open my headlights again? Its natural for paint to fade and chip over time, I'm afraid of it happening and not being able to open them up to repaint in the future.
so far I've found this, anyone have any input on this product ? OCI Butyl Rubber Glue - Accessories from The Retrofit Source Inc

i may be overthinking this because of how expensive these headlights are lol.

My headlights were painted with Satin Black Krylon Fusion Paint. I've had them on for almost 2 years now with no issues at all.

Yup I used a primer tho, but no probs what so ever. And after you reseal them I used some RVT as an extra seal. And if anything fades or chips you can always open them back up to repaint.

I used something like this because it "Bonds to plastic" but I also sanded and prepped the housings.
No issues

Did you sand and primer? Or just sand?

Are you sure it isn't RTV? That's all I found at autozone, couldn't find any RVT lol.

Used engine enamel to combat heat.

I was considering using adhesion promoter.
so id scuff them a bit
spray adhesion promotor
then lay down about 3-4 coats of satin black paint.

what do you guys think?

I went to Lowes got some plastic primer, cleaned the area sprayed the primer with 2 coats let it dry for a day then went back and sprayed with the color. I didnt do any scuffing. I probly wouldent scuff it BC that is a thin layer of crome on the plastic and the pice is very delicate. You will probly not be able to remove all of the crome and by just scuffing it up, you are setting your self up for flaking.
