Nice job! Did you have any problems putting it back together? Everything seems to be sealed fine?

Yep no problem at all. Ive done other headlights before on other vehicles. After I put them back together I use a thin bead of black silicone as a double measure to make sure no moisture gets in

Where in AZ are you? I'd pay you for this!

Do you have any head-on pics on the car? I've been pondering this on mine.

I would be tagging along either way! My son is at the U of A so that would give me an excuse to see him!

It's not bad, its just time consuming. hurts the fingers when pulling the lens off

mag_black 12-02-2013 09:36 PM

Just wondering; do you reheat the headlight to soften silicone before putting them back together or do you apply a new bead and call it a day?

Yes after paint and reassembly I put them back into the oven..heat to 290* F and turn off. Put headlight in for 8 min. Pull it out and squeeze it back together and install the screws to hold it tight. After it cools off then I apply silicone

dont leave the cooking pan in the oven when its warming up. Put it in with the headlight at the same time....or it will be too hot and melt the headlight

zilverbullet 01-27-2014 08:20 PM

Is this matte or gloss?

Doing mine soon as well and was thinking of doing it similarly. Any other ideas for the shrouds?
