Need Advice
Was planning back in April to have my brake calipers paint matched Monterey Blue. I started having second thoughts about it, thinking that it would just be "too much" and so I never went through with it. But seeing some photos like Paige Baker's Z make me think otherwise.
http://www.the370z.com/members/paige...ure63332-a.jpg And here is what my car looks like. http://i821.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps3d7dab21.jpg What do you guys think? |
Why are you supporting someone who was banned from the forums and got a recent review for shoddy work?

I don't mind the paint matching if you decide to go through with it. I just think Raul G is a motherfùcker |
I'll definitely take your word on this one, I have no idea what's going on with this guy but just hearing that I'll drop the subject with him. I don't mind losing a deposit, barely and $$$. I'll change my poll question I guess from having him do it to anyone do it. :tiphat:

Lol, sorry, I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news or to be the àsshole here. I think color matched with a Nissan logo would be cool, I just don't care for people who screw the forum :tiphat:
Tell us what you end up doing. If you DO go through with it, I will have 0 issue with you, I don't care who people go to for their car, just keep us posted |
It's cool to have people kinda keep you in the loop. When I did send the deposit it was somewhat of an "in the moment" decision cause I saw some cars with that set up and thought it looked good. But like I said I thought it would be "too much" for my car, I'm still on the fence about it because I think it looks good, just maybe not on my car.

Would be nice but too much matching would be overkill
|
Personally I think something with high contrast would be better. Kind of highlights the brakes. How about a red or deep yellow? Main thing, make sure you really like, who cares about anyone else ;)

Maybe black with white writing? I think the black with MBlue writing would be cool too? Something to tie it in |
I only have blue, black, and carbon fiber on my car. I was thinking of having them black with a blue nissan logo before but I didn't think it would really look any different, I know that too much blue and black contrast could make it look terrible and that's why I'm somewhat weighing out my options. For the record I would be fine just leaving them how they are, but like I said with some setups I think they look great and I'm just wondering if I have a set up that would work :tiphat:

Someone on the forum has a MB z with a lime green caliper. That color combo looked really good.
|
Probably talking about Boost Lee, yeah I agree it looks great but a little too bold for myself
|
The blue caliper in the first pic does look a little much to me but it may not be so bad with your wheels. I like the idea of black calipers with blue letters.

I know that most might not agree with me on this but a bright silver with black letter would look good. I have seen blue Corvettes Grand Sports with black wheels and silver ones and they looked very nice. The brighter the silver the better.

Not a blue one and red letters instead of black, but maybe this will help??

I'd do a colour similar to the OEM R35 calipers |

Mike is a veteran and sponsor on the forums and does really good work from what i have seen. you should check with him. |
Blue would be to much IMO. Also I think red goes great with the MBlue

If you do not plan on tinting your tails it ties in perfect with them. http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/DSC_0294.jpg |
as long as the calipers are bbk (like akebono's) i dont mind having a good contrast with the wheels, like the red with gunmetal wheels. i kinda like the factory graphite color though.
but if it's the base non-bbk calipers, then best to keep it a dark color to not emphasize the tiny caliper and rotor... and get a more bright colored wheel set to emphasize the wheels. |
