go through your dealer before contacting NNA. Most people that have broached the issue have had good luck. I had two factory-funded repaints on my car.

Just got word from the dealer that they will not cover my paint after they inspected it.

I have a black 2010 roadster z (10k miles) and this paint is worse than my car I traded for it (2007 black armada with 65k miles). My last 3 cars over the period of 9 years have been made by nissan and since Nissan wont cover their new crappy paint this z will be my last. Also I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to buy a Nissan because the paint will look like crap after 1 year of light use.

Even when I was at the St. Louis auto show last weekend it was evident that the new nissans had deeper swirl marks than the rest of the cars at the show.

Just noticed the problem on mine today. Its on the fron wheel well areas just like others posted. I know my dealer wont cover it they are known crooks. Anyone have luck through Nissan corporate?

I have a black 370 and my detailer noticed a high spot, almost like a blob of paint on the bonnet.

The odd dust nib here and there is normal. Ive seen this with with many other brand new cars. I have a tiny dust nib or two on the z also. Had one on my brand new speed 3 hood also.

Being hawk eyed and using good light is no good to me LOL

other than the pearl whites not matching slightly, im happy with how mine is holding up. maybe dif colors are worse...

For the record I just bought a Subaru forester XT as a DD since we had such a terrible winter here, and the paint on that thing is far far worse than the Z. You stare at the paint long enough and through the transmission of sensory waves you can swirl the paint. Its total crap. Every single piece of road debris forms a meteor sized crater in the surface of the cars exterior.

So far my 2012 paint isn't that bad but for some reason the 2012 370z for the most part aren't labeled metallic paint colors like the other years. So I'm not sure if its even as shiny

I have this exact same paint defect as described in the first post, and I have a 2014 Pearl white Z. Anyone able to somewhat fix this with some good touch up paint? I know this is not a perfect fix, but I am trying to avoid repainting the entire bumper, I just applied the clear bra, and I don't want to have that removed.

Can't believe this is still a problem for some. My midnight blue is looking good so far, no defects where the bumper meets the fender or anywhere else. I'm actually pretty impressed with my paint job.

Here is what my Nissan dealership emailed me....

"I heard back from the Nissan representative, unfortunately, he has denied the claim. He stated that he has not had any warranty claims or other known issues with this particular situation/issue and cannot deem it as a "defect"."

With this in mind, where do I go next... more interested in how people, if anyone, "fixed" this. I am worried about touch up paint, but with the clear bra on it, that may be my only option.

I can't believe this isn't covered as part of the 3 year/36,000 bumper to bumper coverage. Am I missing something here? :icon14:
