This is the opposite of "dress up" for our car, this is a protection item.
If I had my Z today I would snap a picture, but the OEM plastic piece for both Nismo and coupe start to sag over time and tear, this piece provides real protection for the underside of your engine along with better cooling and added bonus of an easy access port of oil changes.

i consider this a dress up mod myself. :yum: during oil changes.

the car does not need it, but something nice to have.

Not to mention the additional support for the bumper. Buying this is really a no-brainer. It was the first mod I did. I still love it, even though mine has to come off for oil changes after the TT/oil cooler/etc.

Same here, once I get one, the oil access is not used with the SC relocating the filter to the other side. Then again, even before the SC I still removed the undertray because it is easy and I can inspect everything while under the car.

Ehhh Nismo one is 399 :( Maybe in a week or soo, been wanting this mod for a while >.< my udertray is so beat up thanks to the crazy dips in texas! and it has the tendency of coming loose every now and again!

definitely on my to get list had one on my 350z and it lasted for years, oil changes are so much easier

yah, when i banged up my factory cover on my G last year i was about to pull the trigger on one as well. ended up using a heat gun, VHB, and thick sheets of plastic + paint to fix the damage. looks factory finish again. :D

BIG addition to supporting the front bumper.

I can't remember-would it interfere with a front lip? Like a Stillen? Or does it connect far enough back. Broke off my lip and figure when I replace it, might as well do this as well since I pull the undertray anyway.

Chuck33079 03-05-2014 08:23 AM

If the lip interfered with the stock undertray somehow, you would still have the same issue with the aftermarket one. I'm not sure how the two would interact, but if the lip covered the bolt holes for the OEM undertray you'd have problems with this one too.

^^^^ This.

The Z-Speed cover fits like the factory plastic one. FWIW I have a Mines lip. The two parts fit without modification.

I have the 3-piece EVO R lip. No fitment issues at all. The Z-speed undershroud was one of my best mods IMO. I was totally impressed with the quality of the piece when it came. It was easy as pie to install, everything fit perfect. Which is REALLY rare when it comes to aftermarket parts of that nature.

I may have missed it but is there anyone who has the hotchkis sways with this tray? Issues?
