sticky shift paddles
 

I don't use the shift paddles very often. Just once in a while for fun. I've noticed the paddles are a bit sticky. Sometimes they don't pop back. I have to push it.

Should I just spray with WD-40? Not sure if WD-40 will damage seals of any sort behind the steering column.

That shouldn't happen. Did you buy the car new? Some people put 3m rubber spacers back there to shorten the paddle's range of motion. Maybe see if anything is obstructing the pathway?

Take it in for examination. I wouldn't mess around with it first. Too nice a feature to be compromised.

take them out by removing plastic surround on column. I would clean them then inside on the part that clicks and slides (prob white plastic area im guessing from what my car has) Nissan uses that white lithium grease stuff. Prob just need to clean it out and apply new grease.

btw if you do this be careful of the glued metal contacts! those are what make the car shift. mine broke off on GTR when changing paddles but with some plastic epoxy, a q tip and some patience i fixed it.. just be careful!

i thought those paddles were titanium. why are they breaking?
