Trunk latch issues after EvoR Wing install

Wanted to see if anyone knew what Nissan does to address the additional weight that is added when installing a larger spoiler like the nismo one. I installed my Evo R Wing but the latch does not completely unlock after hitting the button due to the weight. I also think it is causing some sort of noise when going over bumps. I wanted to find out if the springs were adjustable or if there were replacements when the heavier spoiler is installed. Any help is appreciated.

Start with:

Then on Nismos there are large clear "bumpers" put on the car where the hatch spring hits to compress it more. Look into that as well

Put a penny in the little black plastic spring thingy on the hatch. This will increase spring tension when the hatch is closed. ;)

If you want to pay 10X the price go to Nissan vaseline dept. Or go to Home Depot and get one of these:

I tried that and it only helps a little bit for a while, then it reverts back to it's old ways!

I have a 40th with the standard spoiler and since I've owned her, the rear latch has done the same thing you describe. I hit the button, it partially releases, pull up on it a bit, hit the button again and all is well. It's annoying

Try what I posted. AND there's a TSB for the springs. You can get yourself a new set for free from the dealer

Well, since you installed a wing that wasn't original equipment on your car, Nissan isn't going to do anything for you.

Go to upgraded struts, replace the springs, add the clear bumpers.

I put some washers to lift upi the rubber pieces. Works great.
