Seniors Moment or being fed a line?

I had a leak from the AC onto the passenger floor and took the car into the dealer for repair. I momentarily watched the mechanic as he was checking under the dash while the car was on the hoist. I swear that I saw him take a black plastic panel off of the bottom of the dash on the passenger side to expose the heater fan etc. That panel is not there now and the dealer says there never was one!? In my mind it went from the bottom lip of the dash back toward the firewall and would prevent passenger feet from kicking the fan housing. Is it time to adjust my medication or am I being fed a line of BS?

Negative, I took a pic.

He might have been removing the glove box or passenger floor board?

I have not spent any time digging around in my Z yet to be exact.

Thanks "Trips". That's exactly what mine looks like. Feel pretty stupid now because I would have bet my life that he had a flat panel in his hand that covered that stuff. I think you are right that it was probably the glovebox or side kick plate or whatever (could even have been the darn floormat!@#?)(Senility sucks!). Guess in future it's best to stay in the waiting room and mind my own business. Thanks again!

I would say 9/10 times they are feeding us BS. I would have totally done the same thing in your case.

yah, especially since my other cars in the past did have a black cover there i too would've assumed there would be one.

Did the dealer say what the problem was with and what they did?
I recently had some water show up on the passenger floor, out of warranty by a long time, so trying to diagnosis it.
