Mishimoto Power Steering Reservoir Tank

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i didnt seem like it would fit in the "Enigine and Drivetrain" section.

Any one have experience with this product? I've really only found one review on Amazon (which isnt good), but would like to get more feedback if anyone has experience.

Anyone know what size hoses are needed to replace the OEM powersteering hoses?

Amazon.com: Mishimoto MMRT-PSA Aluminium Power Steering Reservoir Tank: Automotive

Thanks in advance!

After Receiving the product I noticed the very sloppy thread mating in the inlets. The inlet and welded on bung are not the same thread, just close enough to give you a false sence of security. The unit began leaking immediately. I removed, cleaned the threads and installed thread tape. This did not work. I then tried thread sealant compound, still did not work. After careful examination, I notice the tank is chromed aluminum not steel. I tried a last ditch effort to fix the leak and the threads stripped rather easily. Also the bolt holes that hold the bracket go into the resivoir, and also leak fluid out the top. Very dissappointed considering the high price of the product

That's the same review from Amazon. Hate to take one persons word for it, but they may be my only option. Would love to know if any Z owners have this installed with the same issues.

:iagree: I didn't know anyone else knew of Weapon-R, but in any case, I have purchased from them with nothing but good things to say

It's raining in cincy today, so I decided to start working on this install. I've attached a pic of my first "test fit". I basically used the OEM reservoir mount and bolted the Mishimoto mount to it. Unfortunately the new tank sits to high so the OEM hose won't reach. The tank also isn't sitting level. I'm gonna try attempt two now. I'll keep everyone updated.

Is it skinnier but taller than the OEM res? My current res is a little cramped beside my intercooler piping so a skinnier res would be nice.

Wiggins3377 07-27-2013 04:32 PM

Both. Skinnier and taller. The taller part is the issue. It's difficult to find a place to clear the fender liner.
