It was time.

So... After much thought and debate about whether to do it myself or to pay somebody else to do it for me... I finally decided to take the dive and attempt to take my headlights apart and paint them myself. They are awaiting their 2nd coat as I speak... Will update with pictures as I get them.

For all of you that are nervous about doing this yourself, don't be. It actually isn't that bad. I used the heatgun/cardboard box method and it was pretty easy.

Grindkiezer 06-18-2013 10:22 PM

What color scheme are you going with?

AQUAMAN 06-18-2013 10:40 PM

Black, black, and more black lol. Though I am attempting to leave the small chrome boomerang alone to give it some contrast. Not sure if my tape job will allow that it not though.

Very nice, interested in seeing the final product. Just make sure that you seal it up water tight

AQUAMAN 06-18-2013 11:09 PM

Now that I got past the 'breaking them open'... The final seal is what I'm worried about >.<

Xplicit97 06-18-2013 11:09 PM

Is there a link for this heat gun / cardboard box method?

Xplicit97,

http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...-w-videos.html

this was the guide I used. I just didn't have the supplies to add the leds to it this time around. so I only looked at the videos for heating and disassembling.

Also, I apologize for the dirtiness of her right now. Been storming around here so I haven't been able to wash all the bugs off from my 10 hour drive =/ stupid insects :shakes head:

I really like how the chrome boomerang pops against the black. Was a good decision to tape that off lol

Grindkiezer 06-19-2013 11:43 PM

Looks great, good job
