Gentex 453 pin out
 

does anyone have pin out wire diagram for a gentex 453 mirror model 015849? I pulled it out of a 2007 Nissan maxima. I have done looked every where I can think of and cant find it. I have even looked in the Nissan factory service manual all I could find was a couple of the wires and not sure they are correct.

my connector is

pin 1 blank
pin 2 blank
pin 3 black neg - ?
pin 4 blue
pin 5 blank
pin 6 orange pos + ?
pin 7 blank
pin 8 blank
pin 9 brown
pin 10 black with red stripe

any help would be appreciated

My cousin works at Gentex. I am going over there in a little bit and will ask if he has/can get any wiring diagrams for you.

The few pinouts I could find all call for the black wire to be ground but disagree on the colors of the other two wires.

The other two wires go to B+ and ACC. B+ is usually the striped wire. It shouldn't hurt anything if you get them backwards, so experiment. Others have wired both to ACC and reported good results.

Here's how one member did it but the wire colors don't match yours.

Edit: FWIW, some 453's use two of the pins for a temperature sensor and another pin for backup lights on.

well from what I could find and piece together... is pin 6 and 10 are positive. and pin 8 is negative. only that my plug didn't have a wire in pin 8. so that is throwing me off. I do have a black wire at pin 3. I have checked with an ohm meter and I am getting 0 ohm from pin 2,3,8,9..... so im just guessing that pins 3 and 8 are interchangeable as a ground. also guessing that pin 4 and 8 control side view mirror dimming ( only a guess because I looked up in 2008 maxima factory service manual *wire colors were not the same as mine but pin locations was*). but I hate to guess and fry my mirror. I am not installing till next week so I am going to research a little more.

You can do what i did and buy the harness from that guy on ebay. Its same harness but comes with a red/yellow/black. I went that route because my original harness came with 5 wires but different wiring than what you've mentioned.

Here's what I come up with using the Intertubes and your ohmmeter readings. My guesses in parentheses. YMMV.

pin 1 - blank
pin 2 - blank (spare ground)
pin 3 - black neg - ? (ground)
pin 4 - blue (temperature sensor +)
pin 5 - blank
pin 6 - orange pos + ? (ACC)
pin 7 - blank
pin 8 - blank (spare ground)
pin 9 - brown (temperature sensor -, ground)
pin 10 - black with red stripe (battery)

Doesn't the mirror have a light sensor to control dimming?
